Roseau

Post by northwoods oldtimer »

northwoods likes what he has seen of Roseau in the 4 games he took in this winter. Did not get a chance to see the Royals. If they play like last seasons club they will have their hands full with the Roseau Rams. Should be a good one: big school verse little school, just what the fans like to see!

I agree with most people about the talent level of the Rams. But when it comes to the state tourney you need a lot more of heart then talent. Woodbury has came this far and has made history in their town and I dont think that they will want to end that. Woodbury will come out with fire, especially with the 2,000 Woodbury fans at the game and the upset against Cretin.

Woodbury 3
Rams 2

Good luck

Considering tradition and the cheering of the crowd tomorrow, it will surely seem like Woodbury is the little school.

Since Woodbury has never been there they will come out like fire, like you said, but often times teams that are at state for the 1st time choke.... I guess we'll see I'll for sure be there for this one, if Roseau keeps their head in the game I think we can pull it off 4-1 Rams!!! Good Luck Rams!

I am a northern fan, but it would be nice to see another upset. Roseau has been overated all year and need to either prove themselves this weekend or I guess they could just be knocked off by Woodbury (The team that supposily has no chance in hell of going to the semis or even the SHIP.)

GOOD LUCK WOODBURY!!

Overated by who? They have 2 losses all year against Moorhead who has beat practically any team in the state. The rams ended the year 23-2-0 and were ranked 5th i believe, i don't see how that's overated! And everyone was expecting Moorhead to be here, so Roseau hasn't been hardly talked about contending for the hardware until they beat the Spuds.

I agree that Woodbury will come out hard because they're making history for their town, but go to Roseau's homepage, they're known to come out hard as well...

Goals by Period 1) 52 2) 37 3) 53
Opp Goals/Period 1) 8 2) 16 3) 12
According to those numbers, it looks like Woodbury should play stingy D the 1st period and come firing the 2nd.

Either way, they rams, no matter how many times they've been to state (31) always bring their heart to the tournament. I guarantee last year still lingers in their mind.

Best of luck to both teams! Go RAMS!!

Hopefully St. Paul has stocked up on the Windsor for the Saturday showdown between Roseau and Grand Rapids :!:

Look for all North finals in both divisions :D

Rams/Royals

Post by siouxfan2727 »

Both teams need to come out hard. I hope I don't have fingernails when this game is over. Hits, saves, good puck movement, dicipline down low in the defensive end, and depth will win this hockey game. Who's going to have more of it on center stage?

I want to see a nailbiter lets go for:

Rams: 1

Royals: 0

Enrollments

Post by JLS 81 »

Woodbury Enrollment (10-12): 1765

Roseau Enrollment (10-12): 325

Back before some of you were born the State of Minnesota used to have a single class tournament where folks litterally could NOT find a ticket without paying a kings ransom outside. At that time and in that era there were many a matchup between the small school (enrollment) verse big school (enrollment) that put this great tournament on the national map. Fans loved those types of epic matchups...this matchup (between Woodbury and Roseau) sort of lives up to that in a small way.

Woodbury - 1
