Hill's Year(s into next decade)

Post by pistol »

Reason #1 why this is Hill's year:

Since the MSHSL included Hill-Murray in 1975, the Pioneers have made State exactly six times each decade...

1974/75, 1975/76, 1976/77, 1977/78, 1978/79, 1979/1980

1982/83, 1983/84, 1984/85, 1985/86, 1986/87, 1987/1988

1990/91, 1991/92, 1992/93, 1996/97, 1998/99, 1999/2000

Our enemies already this decade have been allowed their four fluke entry limit, and the Pioneers will be keeping the rest of the 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2009/10 tickets to themselves.

Reason #2 why this is Hill's year:

Hill-Murray has at least one State Championship for each Republican elected President...

1970 and 1972

1983

1991

And W's second term is up this year.

Reason #1 why this is not Hill's year:
stats from the past mean absolutely nothing, stop living in the past.

Reason #3 why this is Hill's year:

Once before when needing 14 wins to take the conference, Lechner's lads played in his first State Championship final as Pioneer Head Coach...

And Hill-Murray coaches ALWAYS WIN the State Championship game on the second try.

Were else but the past can one find stats?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

Its so Edinaian to duck a tough tournament, just like its Hilliot to duck a tough conference, just like is Roseauvian to duck a tough schedule. Whan Centennial went to state, they beat more than Hill. They beat #2, #3, and #4 at state. Ducks in a row....

Reason # 4 your STILL wrong

true, only in the past will you find stats. but good luck winning it ALL this year. maybe youll make it past sections...maybe.but even if you do, hill murray is for sure not the best team in it if they make it into state. i guess we will just have to wait and see.
oh and here's one for you

"hill murray falls to #2 seed white bear lake in section finals"

Reason #4 why this is Hill's year:

The last time the Pioneers were moved from one section into the next higher numbered section, guess what happened....

You have to look back in order to learn enough to face your future; I would suggest examining the last eight Hill-Murray/WBL games in order to predict your future.

As much as the things pistol's saying have nothing to do with why they'll make state this year (as interesting as some are), their section is the reason why they'll make it. They'll probably walk to state; who in their section will beat them?

Winning is another story. I'd argue they wouldn't even be a top 4 team.

all my roomates are from hill, and they, along with the kind of people who make this thread, make me realize Hill-Murray should be shut down for all the annoyance it has caused in the lives of the rest of minnesotans.

Ah, but by evidence that you remain living with Pioneers, it shows that even though we come off as a bunch of ego-filled idiots, you still enjoy our company. :D

Due to these four reasons, I don't see anyway Hill can lose state.

With 9 Seniors, Hill better win it this year. We know they have JV defense, at least 2 that will be Varsity ready next year, we know they have a netminder in the pipe for the future, but can they replace 5 forwards next year? That's alot of punch...

Hill wins it in 08 or not until???

91 was a looooooong time ago, only the Seniors and juniors were even born in 1991.

Neutron - Is there any truth to hill politicking to move Centennial? if so, what do you know about it?

How do think the Cougs will do in the playoffs? I've seen them play twice this season, but I'm always interested.
