I heard that Zach Lehrke Commited to Mankato State Today.

All I have to say is Mankato has a great player coming to their team in the future.

Talking to his dad is a good source, and good enough for me.

Do you know who else was in play for him, and why he ultimately chose Mankato?

I don't know all the facts...but i do know that he had other offers from BSU, Providence, and another school out east.

I know he visited St. Cloud more than once and he visited the UofM once as well. He had been talking to a number of other schools as well, UND, CC, and a couple eastern schools.

I know he visited Mankato last weekend and loved it...when i talked to his older brother, he said it seemed like the perfect fit and also there offer would be pretty tough to turn down.

Do you know what the other offers were and what college out east it was? Also, will he be playing juniors for a year or two?

I heard from a reliable source that Zach will still be playing juniors at cedar rapids for at least a year..probably 2.

Congrats to him, he should fit in well with the Mavs, hopes he has some success in the WCHA. It's not everyday we see a PR kid playin in the WCHA.

This is great news! Lehrke and Leivermann. The new L&L show! I just wish that MSU would give Litchfield an offer. He deserves to be a Maverick too!!

If he plays the WCHA next year, congrats to him. If so at MSU, he could've played somewhere else. Great player, but next year no one will see him play at MSU.

Congrats.

Congrats to Zach. I've known him since he was 4-5 years old so that's awesome news. Best of luck to him in Juniors and at MSU.

Zach does NOT struggle in school. His grades are fine. Who ever you heard that from is giving you false information. This has been brought up before and was disproven...

Grades in school and test scores are two different things. Test scores were and issue.

I haven't seen any newspaper story on this and it's not on CHRIS HEISENBERG'S recruit page. So...is this offical that he's committed to Mankato?
