since it can no longer be pat boyd, i see no point in giving this award out.

but in all seriousness, some kid from edina will probably win it next year

Not sure how Boyd was even able to steal it from that "Fangs" kid from the two years before since he set the bar so high 8) ...

Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Hornet or two to be on the top ten list next year. I think a sleeper to have a great year for H-M should be Issac Kohls...

A very good group of fowards this year, depending on who stays...

Tyler Landman- Roseau
Danny Mattson- Academy Of Holy Angels
Marshall Everson- Edina
Zach Budish- Edina
Tyler Zepeda- Hill-Murray
Tyler Pitlick- Centennial
Nick Oliver- Roseau
Anders Lee- Edina
Josh Birkholz- Blake
Ben Hanowski- Little Falls
Tyler Lapic- New Prague

If the 2009 Mr. Hockey is a forward, he'll come from this list... bank on it. As for defensemen, I don't see enough depth to make the same claim. Leddy would be my best guess though.

Well it has been too long since a Gopher won it...

Budish I think is the early favorite.

Might as well start the debate now

danny matson or one of the edina guys. i don't even know if matson is staying but if he does he will have a ton of points and he will get them against however he plays against.

The word is that Bjugstad is going to Ann Arbor next year, the source wasn't very reliable but I do know he had a tryout, if true then he would not be in the running for MR HOCKEY

Future Mr. Hockey?

I cant remember his name, but I think the # he wore was 9, he is coming up in the Roseau system. Best talent I have seen in 30+ years watching the youth hockey programs bar none!

He should be a top ten candidate. I don't think he will be the guy.

Keep in mind, NHL scouts have a say in this. I am guessing you will need to look at who has excelled to the highest levels of Minnesota & USA hockey to find your answer. As talented as Mr. Everson is, I don't think he fits that bill.

I like Budish, Hanowski and Mattson in that order.

It's crazy that we don't hear more about this kid, but then again he does play for Richfield. Great player but no not Mr. Hockey. Is he looking to leave and play juniors? If so, where?

Drafted by the Fargo Force and made the team. Still undecided whether he will play high school hockey or go to juniors. Ultimately I think it will depend on what the college coaches advise him to do. He is very capable of being Mr. Hockey.
