Hill Murray (13-5-1) @ St Thomas Academy (15-3-1) 2-7-09

If St Thomas wins this match up, they have all but wrapped up a conference title. If Hill Murray can tie up the season series and both teams win out, they share the conference title.

Good luck to both teams next Saturday and in Section 4.

Is Tyler actually out? He played against Simley. I know he is having some issues.

I'm not sure if he is 100% out but I thought I read somewhere on here that he is injured and may miss a couple games.

3-0 HILL over the CADETS

Post by HShockeyz » Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:50 pm

3-0 Hill over Cadets. I'm a cadet guy at heart, but I heard Hill might have a trick up its sleeve. I reserve the right to change this before game time...

Cadets win 5-2. Hill is too much at beginning season form with its new lines and STA is nearing playoff form.

HM 3, STA 0

Post by stpaul » Sat Feb 07, 2009 9:58 pm

Hill-Murray 3, St. Thomas Academy 0

Huge win for the Pioneers. The first win over a top team since the 4 knotheads were kicked off. They are 14-6-1 and have a chance at the number 1 seed in 4AA. They have big games left with Tartan & Moorhead - both at Aldrich. 18-6-1 certainly gets them the top seed. 17-7-1 probably does too. Shaughnessy was great in nets after the disaster in the 2nd period against Mahtomedi on Tuesday (he gave up 4 goals on 5 shots). Stopped STA 26 times tonight on STA's ice. BTW it was freezing in there. If Mahtomedi or SSP can knock off STA next week HM can still be conference co-champs. The young kids are starting to step up for the Pioneers.

I agree with everything stpaul had to say. It was a big win for the Pioneers, Shaughnessy bounced back huge after Tuesday's poor showing and it was absolutely freezing in the St. Thomas arena. I also found it interesting that Tyler Zepeda played as a defenseman tonight and did quite well. Pretty ironic for a player who has been cirticized for three eyars for not playing defense.

Sounds like a great win for the Pioneers!!! I'm glad they rebounded from last Tuesday's tough result. Good luck to the Pioneers the rest of the way, build on this victory!

Statement game for the Hill Boys. Definitely looked like a contender. Forcheck was relentless, D zone was very reliable, and Shaughnessy looked like a seasoned varsity goalie all night long.

You could tell by the way they played that they are getting sick of what people are saying. My hat is off to the players and coaches, talk about going through hell.

St. Thomas can now go play for the Class A championship and win.

Go Bears!!!

hill is already an automatic #1 seed, trust me....defending champs and a piece of crap region, those other teams have also fallen apart and have resume at all to fall back on.... but anything can happen in this poor region that is for sure...

Well well, this is good news for the rest of the upper tier teams in Class A. I think the highest they should be rated for the state seeded is 4th, maybe.

On a side note to this game, the JV had only 4 extra skaters and hung on to win 2-1.
