IMO, Alexandria and Bernicks are two horrible venues to watch a game. Bowl style, or at least seating on both sides, is necessary. The MAC wouldn't be a bad location, but there is the potential for three other semifinal games there on Saturday.Stealth wrote:Yes that is right.elliott70 wrote:Goldy Gopher wrote: Tech's home arena is the NHC so that would be my guess.
EDIT
And yes, this game is at the NHC.
Apollo and Cathedral use the MAC?
I was just thinking why do they play the next round at NHC?
Tech just won there yesterday. Another home game?
They could use MAC, Bernicks, and Alexandria. Someplace neutral?
If Cathedral and Sauk Rapids both win Thursday, the section 5A semifinal will be played at the MAC (unless something drastically changes). Additionally, Alex/Sartell and Little Falls/Fergus will be played there, all on Saturday.
The semis used to be played at the high seed in this section (I remember watching Tech/Alex at the MAC). Although it's probably unfair to have Tech on their home ice, it's equally unfair to have Buffalo drive 5 hours potentially twice.
With the geography of the section makes it so that it's unfair no matter how you look at it. The way it is now is the only way to make it work, IMO.
