#8 Johnson defeats #1 Tartan

Just curious if there have been any other 8 seeds upset #1. I can't think of any in recent memory. Congrats to St. Paul Johnson.

Wow, great job Johnson. Good first season in the Tri-Metro, which is a tougher conference than many give credit for imo, and now an upset in the playoffs. Anybody have the box score?

Ouch

Saw it comin at the drop of the puck. The coach and players for Johnson were pumped and ready to go all out
A couple break away goals and two goofy bounce goals sealed the win.
Oh well that's why they play the games.
Overall a great season Titans - frustarating loss

Johnson is my sentimental favorite team. Always wish good things for Johnson. Yes, all because of Herb! Way to go Johnson!

Too bad Govs93 isn't allowed round these parts anymore. I'm sure he'd have quite a bit to say.

This was a #1 seed I pretty much knew had no chance of going to state. The senior class were pretty much bottom feeders in District 2 every year growing up. Nice season though. Congrats.

Only one I know of off the top of my head was in 1999, Chaska #8 defeated #1 Wayzata in 6AA.

#2 seed Eden Prairie ended up winning the section.
