GR beats Crookston 4-3 in an uninspiring summer game. Lots of young players that will most likely be JV for the upcoming season as most of GR's regulars are playing baseball. Only a few varsity players this weekend for GR. Not horrible considering GR skated for the first time together last night. Many players probably haven't seen the ice since early March. GR to play the winner of Buffalo and TRF tomorrow at 2.

GR beats Bemidji today 5-1. Rogers vs Alex in the other semi. TRF lost to Bemidji last night, TRF beats Crookston today. Rogers beat Fergus last night and Hibbing fell to Alex. So tomorrow will be :

GR vs Alex/Rogers - Championship
Bemidji vs Alex/Rogers - 3rd place
TRF vs Hibbing/Fergus - Consolation Championship
Crookston vs Hibbing/Fergus - 7th place

GR3343, Sounds like a good test for your youngs guys to play against some Varsity level players

The young guys played pretty well. Started slowly, but adapted to a little faster pace and hung tough.

GR wins their own tourney with a 6-1 win over Rogers.

On to the Duluth tourney next weekend. 1st game Fri night vs Duluth Marshall at Mars Arena.

Solid tournament at Minnetonka this Saturday and Sunday. Features the two preseason favorites in my book Tonka and EP. Also attending are Wayzata, Hopkins, Faribault and a few other teams.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.

PapaB, All I can find is that both Minnetonka A & B rinks are booked Sat/Sun 8-3. I tried calling the arena about matchups but they don't have any info, nor does the Hopkins hockey site?

Any idea about matchups/times? Thanks

Breck goes 5-0 to take the tourney in Spring Lake Park. Wins against Orono, Spring Lake Park, Osseo and a big victory vs the highly touted Blaine team featuring Nick "on the ice 75% of the time" Bjugstad. No question he is the real deal. It was a close game with the Mustangs pulling it out 3-2 even though they were out penalized 10-2 and played most of the game short handed. Can't say enough about the goaltending of Russell. They finished off Andover 3-1 in the final.
