This game is at 730 right? I swear I saw east fans going into the heritage already. Plus the lots over 1/2 full. And it's only 545

If anyone else is attempting to listen to the WEBC live feed and can get it to work, let me know. I've tried everything I can think of, and just get this doubling reconnection time that eventually freezes at 64 seconds.

Another weak east student section. How sad. Can we get cenfelds fans?

East 2
CEC 0

After 1. Shots 14-4 DE. Hub writer says it's the best period he's seen East play all year. Where was that for the past three weeks :?: :!:

Esse usually makes great adjustments between the 1st and 2nd periods, though. We'll see what comes next.

East up 5-0 after 2, and supposedly hit 3 pipes in the final minute of the period. (This is from the Hub person.) Shots 29-9.

Only 1 goal from a 1st-line forward. I've been griping about the overreliance on the first line lately, so this is a great sign in that regard.

Agreed on this being easts best game so far. A few slop plays and mistakes but if they could play the season, playoffs like this we have a very good state runner here. Everything is just fast and spot on

East tops Cloquet 8-1, the most goals East has scored against Cloquet since 1996.

The Cloquet first line of McFarlane-Kuhlman-Meyer may be at the same level as the Langenbrunner-Petrov-Novak line of 1993 (for those of you alive back then :D), with the ability to score every shift. The second line has come together pretty good lately as well.

That at least gives the 'Jacks a chance to make teams score to beat them, especially with some defensemen out injured.
I'm not an East fan, but I was certainly not picking CEC. ER will give the
Hounds a better game on Saturday and secure the third seed. Not saying ER will win, but will not lose by 7. nuff said

Terrific game. Scoring from all four lines and JoJo is back with it.
Jack's top lines were nonexistent. No Cloquet shots on goal for the first 12 minutes vs. DE scoring 2 on their first three.

It was actually 2 on their first two
East played fast hockey tonight, and really put CEC away by scoring quickly. The first 4 goals were scored in sets of two, with the 2nd and 4th goals coming while the previous goals info was being read and the band was playing the school song still.
Phil Johnson had a wicked snipe from close range, Dom absolutely dangled two defenders for a breakaway goal to lead off the scoring (apparently one of the kids he dangled is my professors son) and Jojo played great. Students sections were absolutely terrible once again, but thats how it is this year. Kids are too used to teams winning and going to State every year to care. They don't remember Patrick White's Penalty Box Special or Randolph's Rejects "What can Brown do for you?" heartbreaker. Glad to see the Hounds back on track.
Go Hounds.

I was gonna be embarrassed for them if that one didn't go in, they had enough shots at an open net lol
Go Hounds.

Might be a bit of an overstatement on this line considering how they got handled by DE.

But CEC has been coming on strong ever since, with its top line putting up some gaudy goal totals, while East has hit a few bumps in the road down the stretch and is no longer winning with the authority they had at the beginning of the season. The game could end up shaping the 7AA seeding as well.

Can East make it 6 in a row in this rivalry, or does this game signal the return of the Jacks to prominence in 7AA?

The game is at 7:30 at the Heritage Center.
Not really directed at you but would anyone know why Hermantown does not play East? Aren't they in the same conference even?

No, East left the LSC over 10 years ago and hasn't played Hermantown since.

We've had this discussion about 5 times already this year...here's one of them: http://www.ushsho.com/forums/viewtopic. ... n&start=25

I believe it was 1994-95. The 1995-96 season Cloquet lost 4-1 and 6-2 to East.
