VIRGINIA/HIBBING, LET'S GET IT STARTED!

Post by INDUS » Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:40 am

I think this will be the year that Hibbing breaks the curse, Virginia isn't as deep has they have been the last few years, and Hibbing as a few more skilled players then they have had. I think a 4-2 game.

I also think it is the year. Tromp has been playing well and ever since the Hermantown game seems like the boys are playin with more confidence. I will take Hibbing in this one 5-3 en

Should be a great game at Amsoil, hopefully the better team wins that will represent 7a at state. I'll leave it at this, 7a always did good at state until Virginia found ways to get there...

Virginia will take this one AGAIN. They have tons of confidence after the Marshall game, not to mention how they handled Hibbing last time they played. Milbridge is extremely solid and they're defense has been great.

Big Game

Post by rainier » Sun Feb 27, 2011 11:19 am

I'm picking Hibbing. After the loss to Virginia, they have been playing great. They pushed Hermantown to the brink in a tie, had 9 different players score goals against Silver Bay, and dismantled Central last night. Virginia is very good with lots of seniors, but Hibbing has a higher offensive ceiling. I'm taking Hibbing 3-1.

Virginia will win again, been hearing the same thing from hibbing for the last two years. Virginia has so much experience winning the big game and hibbing has none. Virginia 5-1

Virginia by two. Too much experience. More depth than hibbing. Milbridge best goalie in the section. Another trip to the x for the bluedevils

You must not have seen Hibbing play lately, they are playing the best hockey they have played all year.

What big game are you talking about? You've been to state a total of 3 times and are 1-6 down there. Good job of representing 7a!

Ryno, you seriously need to find another hobby rather than coming online and bashing Virginia. The big game he is most likely referring to is the SECTION FINAL wich is what we're talking about. And you're attempt at a "diss" about Virginia not winning many games down there is silly, at least they got there! And we have seen how they've been playing lately, in case you've forgotten it was less than 2 weeks ago that Virginia shut Hibbing out 4-0

I'm talking about the last two years, where about ten players from virginia's team this year have beaten hibbing and ended their seasons twice. That is considered a pretty big game and virginia has come to play twice and hibbing has not. Why would anything change for virginia? The playoffs this year played out exactly like the last two years and we all know how that ended up

I have watched goalies for many years. Virginia has a very fine goalie, but I would have to say Tromp from Hibbing and DeGuiseppi from Grand Rapids are the best from this area. Tromp has put up some good numbers this year despite the fact that he does not have a lot of experienced defensemen in front of him where DeGuiseppi does. As far as the Hibbing - Virginia game goes, big game experience will be a big factor for both goalies with Tromp having the advantage there. I think this will be his third section final game. Good luck to both goalies and both teams.

Gotta go with Hibbing. They had 9 different players score against Silver Bay.

I think Virginia takes it again in a close game. After this year it looks like Hibbing will go on the run Virginia is on in 7A, lots of good young talent. I'll take the senior leadership this year.

5-2 Hibbing

My guess is that if St. Thomas/Totino, Hermantown, Blake/Breck, and Lourdes make it to the X the winner of this game will not be seeded at state. I would be great if they were though. Go Northland!

Virginia. The confidence is high after winning this section in the last couple years and beating Hibbing recently. It's their seniors last chance to get something done at state and they want that chance. They'll be the odd team out once there, meaning they won't get ranked. By the way, why is Hibbing bashing their performances at state? If you're saying Virginia is no good, then what does that make you?

As a neutral fan, I gotta go with Hibbing here. What is this, Hibbings ninth consecutive section final, and their 0 for their last 6? It will be a fun game to watch and am interested to see how Virginia matches the lines. Hibbing will need to shut down Hendrickson's line to have a chance. Whoever wins though I will be satisfied with, way better than seeing Marshall down there.. My prediction 3-2 Hibbing in overtime.

HAHA, you can pick whoever you want to win, your as biased as I am. Sure Virginia beat them, but they got back on track with a tie against Hermantown and completely destroying Central, so sure in your book, they've been playing bad but I'll let think whatever you want too. Have a nice evening...
