Want Hibbing or Hermantown, think the Cadets.

BREAKDOWN:

Quarterfinals:
Hermantown 7, Alexandria 1
Hibbing 3, Rochester Lourdes 2
St. Thomas Academy 9, New Ulm 0
Breck 4, Thief River Falls 3 (OT)

Cons. Semis:
Rochester Lourdes 6, Alexandria 2
Thief River Falls 5, New Ulm 1

Semifinals:
Hermantown 2, Hibbing 1
St. Thomas Academy 6, Breck 3

Cons. Finals:
Thief River Falls 4, Rochester Loudes 3 (OT)

3rd Place:
Hibbing 5, Breck 4

Championship:
St. Thomas Academy 4, Hermantown 2

The odds are in favor of STA obviously. I think Hibbing has the best chance for an upset in the Quarters. I don't see anyone beating STA until the championship. Hermantown does have the team defense and the goaltending to knock them off. I happen to think Lourdes is a bit overrated and ripe for the picking. I would love to see a Hermantown vs. TRF final, but that's highly unlikely.

Would be nice to see either Hibbing or Hermantown win it. Good luck to both teams.

I see many have picked Hermantown to win in the poll but none have posted about them. Let me be the first. Hermantown will win and show why they, not St. Thomas Academy, should have been the number one seed.

Poor New Ulm. Last year they got Breck, and this year they get STA.

Not saying Hermantown won't win, but why do they deserve the number one seed? Good wins over Virginia and Grand Rapids, but they have lost or tied with every other good team they have faced.
Imagine a world...with no Wisconsin

I think there are 6 teams that have a chance to win it all. Everyones going to have to come to play with their A game

This is the weakest class A tourney I can remember.

Not sure I can agree. St Thomas is the clear favorite, but they have been played closely by two teams who are in the tournament. The #2 seed tied two of the unranked teams.

Also, the #8 team was paired with the #1 and #7 with the #2, so the semifinals games should be very good. There are 3 teams that could easily win this and 3 more that wouldn't be the biggest surprise if they do.

I thought the same.. I was wondering why Htown Never got above #3 all season..?? Yea STA plays tougher schedule than most AA schools , but there was NO way Htown shouldnt have been in the mix.. they had 3 "meh" games, But beat a ton of good teams this season.. One of them being a ( I believe 5-1 ) win over a Excellent , Physical Grand Rapids team

Really??...... 4 of those teams have been rated top 5 all season, and 2 others top 10.... But I suppose you wanted to see the 8 teams that have been rated 1-8 all season?

The way I see it is Hermantown should get some consideration. They went undefeated in Class A and if my calculations are correct they have the overall better record than St. Thomas. They have fared well against some very good teams and even though they didn't beat Hibbing or Thief River Falls, they didn't lose to them either.

Hermantown did get consideration. But St. Thomas won every game against class A competition including wins against tournament teams Breck, Rochester Lourdes, and White bear Lake(AA) during the season. Hermantown cant claim that.

1. St. Thomas
2. Hermantown

Hopefully they play each other Saturday afternoon

I feel like Thief River has a good chance at winning it this year. They have a good team and lots of motivation.

Oh I know. I just believe Hermantown's Grand Rapids win is as good as St. Thomas' White Bear Lake win and I just believe Breck is overrated this year.

Breck is extremely overrated this year. They are capable of putting together a good game, and they are playing well right now but the only reason they were able to pull out the #4 seed was because of their strength of schedule and being 2 time champs.

Personally I don't even know how much of a chance they are going to have against the Prowlers on Wednesday night... Breck does not match up well with TRF and it might be a long night for the Mustangs. Of course like I said earlier they are capable of putting together a good game but they are just so streaky.

OK...I realize our Cardinals are not the strongest team in the tourney...but to leave them off of the voting poll is a little much! If New Ulm can be on there then Alex can too - right?

BTW - I think MNHockey75 is pretty close in his assessment...scores too.

Let the games begin!

I thought u added them. I had all 8 but some computer error occured on the page on that one and I couldn't edit or add Alex in because the poll already started.

But honestly I should have just left new ulm off as well ;)
