I just read that Travis Underwood is out with a fracture possible for rest of the season. If so that is equal to Duluth East losing Dom Toninato.

Aren't we still awaiting official word on Underwood? First it was broken leg, then reports of broken bone in his foot.

Either way he's out the rest of the year.

Big blow to Thawks squad, comes at almost the worst time of the year with playoffs looming. Boys are going to have to step it up big from here on out

Interesting they move Jake Bischoff up to center between Peterson and Mondry, going with 4 defensemen. Korbitz, Mann, and Frazier on the second line. Rapids still has solid goaltending and the 4 defensemen are good, led by Stejskal, the second line had 3 of the 4 goals on hockey day, so it's not like it's time to panic yet. Gotta take care of business tonight, then see where they stack up against the Spuds on Saturday.

Oh yea mule Rapids beat up on another mediocre single A team...

Your team plays a whole lot of mediocre metro teams.

Well even so most of those teams would still beat virgina, so what's your point?

Rapids 7-1 Final.

Koerbitz had a nice game with a hat trick and an assist. Our 1st and 2nd lines still looked good with Bischoff filling the void from Underwoods absence. Will be interesting to see how they perform against Moorhead saturday.

Grand Rapids qualifies as a single A team that chooses to opt up last time I looked. Much like a few of the other Northern schools.

That is true but East is also single A enrollment that plays AA and doesnt schedule any A teams but Denfeld ( forced to by school Dist).. And you cant say St Thomas Acd counts becuase that was in the Schwans and they are a AA team

Duluth East is AA enrollment since the closure of Duluth Central.

Well played Gitter but in pervious years they were under the enrollment #'s and still played one of if not the toughest schedules in the state year in and year out.. Also with it looking like Andover the #2 and GR the #3 seed (barring a upset) GR could have a tough time in the Semis with the way Andovers goalie is playing
