Steman Commits to Michigan Tech

Post by MNpuckBlog »

Maple Grove forward Dylan Steman has committed to Michigan Tech. This is news from last week, but nobody had posted about it so I thought I'd mention it. http://www.maphockey.net/news_article/s ... _id=213834

Very solid player, Michigan Tech is starting to pick up a few more Minnesota boys it seems like.

His engine runs hot every shift. He'll do great things for the Huskies.

I agree. Unless it has something to do with MI Tech in particular I'd say all the Minnesota colleges really missed a good one. (Heck, so did the Wild in a way!)

Small player, but lots of heart. Mentioned over on the Elites thread, I wonder whether he'd have been recruited if not for his performance in last year's Elite League. Making State didn't hurt, but MG's results there didn't help either. (Not saying he's not a deserving player -- he is. Just saying the politics were probably against him. Kudos to Tech for taking him.)

Not that small and he has been to NY. A well known and respected 94 player.

Rudy said it best and I loved the engine runs hot comment. As a coach once said, "he has a lot of want."

Um.... 5'9, 170#

In context of big league hockey that's usually considered on the small side.

You and I don;t care, but those darn scouts still seem to thing size matters.
