This one is going to be a blow out! My guess for a score is 7-1 Hill.

Prediction: Hill 45 WBL 3

I don't see the spread being more than 4 goals. Pioneers need to refocus and get ready for the Schwan's Cup. The loss to St. Thomas wasn't a bad loss, but a loss nonetheless and could be useful in getting them refocused for the next few weeks.

Hill-Murray 5
White Bear Lake 1

Hill-Murray 5
White Bear Lake 1
6-3 is my prediction.

White Bear's defense gives up too many odd man rushes and makes too many mistakes to keep Hill under that total. it COULD be worse, just depends on how a really young White Bear team responds to a lot of their first times against Hill.

So the only time WBL has won since 2005 was to go to STATE two years ago!

At least they made the 1 win memorable...

Good god Sager.. at least a handful of those games they had talent on par with the Hill teams is the worst part. Especially in the 2006 year. Although the 2006 Section Championship game may have been one of the best hockey games i've ever been to. that or the 2011 one.

You would think beating an all-star team to go to State would result in success at the State Tourney. But the Bears once again failed to get out of the first round. Let me guess, they faced another all-star team there as well?

White Bear high school has something like 2,600 students. And I'm pretty sure their district comprises areas like Vadnais, Hugo, Lino Lakes maybe, Birchwood, Little Canada maybe. It wouldn't surprise me if WBL HS pulled from a population of over 50,000. THEY should have an all-star team every year!

Gonna go on record and say that my prediction is a Jake Wahlin hat trick in a White Bear Lake victory with the score of 7-5. H-M takes WBL for granted and the youth of WBL use the home town crowd to fuel their game and pull off the upset.

Hill defense is too good to allow that many to this caliber of a team, sorry, but if they can hold BSM, Burnsville, St. Thomas Academy, and Eagan to 2 goals, I don't think that White Bear will get more than that.

Exactly. I think it could be a competitive game, but I don't see the Bears scoring 7 goals. And trust me, Hill is not taking WB lightly. They'll come to play tonight. 8-2 Hill if it goes the way I think it will. 4-2 Hill if WB brings their A-game. I just don't see Hill losing this game

And HM district comprises all of these cities plus let me see....
- North up to Cambridge
- West to Edina
- East goes into Wisc
- Not sure how far south they go, but I'm guessing Hastings. Oh wait, I think Shattuck might be further south than Hastings.

Body, you just explained why WBL can't beat HM, but why can't they beat Hastings or Moundsview? Are those allstar teams as well?

OK here are my predictions and theroy why. Right now the HM 1st line is simply struggling to score. The 3rd line is the best looking line and recently has started to score. The 2nd line with former WB boy Mitch Slatery was on fire, but Lech's squelched that by trying to improve two players on the 1st that he alone believes in...or as some have suggested the choosen golden childs. Well eventually the 'Choosen' need to be the ones who really 'ARE' good, hard working, players. For instance, Funk is a natural center, and normally the guy getting moved down doesn't recieve the benefit, well in this case Funk is now at his natural spot, is the hardest working center on the team, and is being fed by the two hardest working wings on the team. So I beleive Funk benefited greatly in that move. And that line is going to be productive.

Additionally I beleive HM has offensive defensmen threats in Black and Becker, which out numbers the offensive defensman threats of WB's Delaney 2 to 1.

Whalin and company have the power to score, but not as of late, and at 5 on 5 will produce 2 points most. SO this is a variable, and they can explode, just not unitil after the holiday.

So if the 2nd line and 3rd line of HM continue to produce as of late and there is a lot of 5 on 5 for most of game 5-2 HM wins.

However here is the variable...the HM power play...mark my words here....the game will be decided by shorties if there are alot of penalties. WB should not be afraid to force the top of the umbrella when on the PK...LOL it may be so effective WB may want to intentionally get thrown in the box...Lech's has been completely convinced by a players dad that this power play refered to by most HM parents as the ..."lets give up some shorties"...power play actually works. With Wahlin and some other high power offensive threats killing the penalty might really mean 'enjoying' the penalty. Well anyone with eyes watching HM on the power play for the last two years has figured out the truth, this may work exceptionally well to spotlight a dads choosen kid, it doesn't work against top teams. When Lech's finally learns that having two different power plays will work and he can choose as they shut down one, the other will start to be really effective. Might help to go with what he knows or a mixture. Until then, being handcuffed with the only one that has some huge 'short' ie comings (LOL) HM may be susptible to giving up shorties. So HM gives up 2 shorties, WB wins in OT 4-3

So those are my predictions and backup....

It is pretty tough to have an allstar team when many of your top players transfer to other schools. Some examples of this is WB's senior classes 2 best goalies growing up Packy Munson (Centenial now) and Travis Nuebek (Hill now) have both left. WB also lost the Junior Classes best defensemen Davis Zarembinski to Hill Murray.

Correct - 1st line Center Willie Brown is out of action tonight... and yes Slattery had switched to 1st line, joining Lavalle and Brown, starting with last period of LVS game..
