You just realized that about Brainerd today? Where have you been. They just got clobbered by Forest Lake and St. Cloud Tech. Their score vs. East today was highly expected.

Ya JLS, da Barnyard has been throwing a few gutter balls lately and look for that to continue on tuesday when they play da Floaters #-o

I'd like to see da Worriors get the #7 seed so they could get a home playoff game against the Northern Lakes Lights-Out for the Championship of Crow Wing County 8-[

Udder den dat, da Worriors are toast :!:

Rapids showed up to play outshooting the Jacks 18-4 in the opening period. Joe Stejskal scored on a missle that was heading wide, but was directed in by the skate of David Brown. Cone's goal was very similar. A missle heading wide was redirected in by a Lumberjack skate. Grand Rapids played well the whole game and ended up outshooting the Jacks 36-26. The Grand Rapids "D" played VERY good forcing many weak, bad angle, or long shots. Grand Rapids did a very good job controlling the Johnson line of Cloquet. Patrick White had two assists in the game.

Great Game

Post by JLS 81 » Sun Jan 14, 2007 11:27 am

CEC came out in the 1st and controlled play for about the first 4 minutes than Rapids got on track. Generating some offense with Ellingson standing tall in net. He played great all game just gettig beat on 2 deflections he did get some "puck luck" on one 'on the tape' rebound that smoked the pipe. Other than that he was solid. Jensen played hands down the best game of his season against CEC. Cloquet most opportune scoring chances tended to miss the net one most memorable was Tyler Johnson on a "one timer" in the slot that was shattered wide by inches. Defensivley Rapids played there best game yet this season great strategy by Bruce and his staff. Very good game, big crowd with lots of metro fans in for the (Bantam/Pee Wee B tournament) taking in a great game. Nice to see Jensen get the shutout he played great and defensivley the coverage was very good. CEC is no doubt very tough hockey club and IMHO capable of a 2 spot in the state.

Very agreeable. I do remember two very solid pipes hit by Morse and Stejskal. The defense was miles improved from the last meeting with CEC. I aslo noticed Tyler missed the net a lot last night.

Shots should have been 25-14 GR after two.

Shots in the first were 18-4 GR, shots in the second were 10-7 CEC.

Not that this matters in the out come of the game, but CEC had way more than 10 shots in the 2nd...

Agree

Post by JLS 81 » Sun Jan 14, 2007 7:31 pm

Agree with you quick gym we were joking at the break that the off ice officials must have counted every other shot by CEC in the second because "dem boyz put on da pressure in da second".
Good thing Jensen was up to the task of stopping vulcanized rubber otherwise CEC perhaps walks out with the win if they finish in the second frame.
