Section 2a might have been one of the worst, but Duluth Marshall has been a top 10 team in class a for the past years. And this year even higher than 10 even up to the number 3 team in class a. I think Warroad is better than any team in 5a, even though these teams are great. Marshall skated with Warroad the whole game and lost by one, and it could of gone the other way.

It does not make sense to say Marshall if they come out of 2a with not have a chance to beat a 5a team, and not come within 5 goals of the 5a champ.

You may not think they will will but they will play right with the 5a champ.

I don't know if you were implying that private schools are better than public schools but just as a note the best teams in both 5a and 2a are private schools.

duluth marshall is a great team, but after them, the section is the 3rd weakest in the state, according to minnhock, which i think is being generous. other than DM no 2a team would come within 5 goals of the 5a champ. so just because there is one good team in a section, it doesn't mean the section is good slapshot99. horrible section. but DM is a good team with a good chance of beating the 5a champs, most likely breck, whom they lost to 7-4 earlier this season, 2nd or 3rd game i believe. i would look fopr that to be one of the best games of the class a state tournament sould both teams advance. good luck to all remaining teams.

Yeah Marshall lost to Breck early this year, and played Blake also with in two days down there. Marshall has come very far from those games, they are a way better team and work together now. The outcome would be different in DM and Breck played. DM might not win but the game would be a one goal game. DM could play with any of the section 5 champs.

I know I am a 2A hockey supporter, as it can be seen by my name. But I have to say that 2A is not as bad as many people make it out to be. The top few teams in the section compete quite well with other sections teams. They are thrown off quite a bit on the minnhock website because of north branch, mora, pine city, duluth central, moose lake.....

no way a 2a team (ie duluth marshall) will beat the best of 5a (Breck, Blake, Totino, Benilde). You will be seeing warroad and a 5a team in the finals.... end of story.

This is getting somewhat redundant but everyone thought that we would all see a 5A vs. 8A final and look what happened.
