Where Are All The OnTopOfA Hill Fans?

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack » Sun Feb 20, 2005 11:59 am

Are you serious guys? Your team loses (ouch <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> ) and you disappear? Even after my Rogers Royals got demolished 8-1 by Spring Lake Park, I'm still on here. Same goes for the Elks (although they won't lose <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> ). Come back, I miss the entertainment.
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

ER, I'm here too. So we lost. I guess this year just wasn't our year. Last night we couldn't "click" and play like we had been the past 6 games. Also, if you hadn't read, the refs screwed the Pioneers. NSP scored with about 30 seconds left, while the net was clearly off way before the goal went in. Even the goal judge told the ref it was off. But, the ref decided to make the terrible call.

Oh well, it's life. As we can all see, anything can happen in playoffs!

I'm looking forward to next year though. The Pioneers should have a very good team, losing only 6 seniors this year. A lot of great young talent is returning. Mike Hoeffel(a stud on the ice), Brian Arrigoni, Nick Larson, Bryant Skarda, Derek McCallum, Mac Garceau just a few of the solid players returning. Also goaltender Joey Phillippi, who came up as a freshman this year and did an outstanding job. Let me tell you, this kid has a great future ahead of him.

Look out for next year, the Pioneers should have a very nice club! As of now, I'd say top 5 material.

Bottom line is NSP should not have won that game, HM is clearly the better team, but luck did not just fall the Pioneers way. The product of this game is an easy in to the final for white bear. Had Hill won, WBL would have reason to fear for their season, but now they can sit back and relax a little (but they can't sit back and watch the game either.)

Back to what matters most:
I have never felt so much pain like I did last night watching an inferior team end the season of the 20 people who mean so much to me and deserve so much more.

As far as the game, it could have gone either way last night. Hill may have outshot NSP, but they still didn't play like they had in the past few weeks. Does Hill have more talent then North? Absolutlely. Last night just wasn't their night though. Anything can happen in the playoffs, and we saw that.

Again, good luck to the seniors. You are a great group of leaders and guys.

Refs ??

Post by Hockeybutt » Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:05 pm

I watched HM demolish NSP 2 weeks ago, if it would have been the worst officiated game ever against Hill that night they still would have won easily. thats what Champions do, they leave no question as to the outcome. Maybe Hill should have played hard Saturday instead of how hard they were going to play in the Semis ! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /devil.gif ALT=":evil">

I can tell you one thing, Hill was not trying to overlook NSP. I myself was worried about this game the most. After watching Stillwater nearly upset Centennial, and WBL play a close game with the 8 seed, I knew it would probably be a close game.

As far as the refs go, I can't even explain it. Sure, Hill lost and the Polars deserve the credit. But that crucial call in the 3rd period really killed them.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ...
