Polars/Pioneers, who will win?

Post by Newguy99 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 12:59 pm

Hey Pioneer fans is there any concern that the Polars could pull off the upset. Since N.S.P's arrival into section 3AA they have played well as the underdog. The same cannot be said when they were the favorite. In recent years they have given the Bears and Raiders problems come section time, just hope to see a good game.

Hill North

Post by brickwall33 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 1:11 pm

If Hill comes to play they win this game no question. If they take this game lightly it could be close. I would expect Hill to come out strong in this game. If they play the way they did against Moorhead this could be ugly. There is no reason that Hill should lose this game and I expect them to come out strong. North has indeed played well as a lower seed, but they have never come out on top. I think it will stay this way for the game saturday.

Good stat Green, 30-0 wow! Hill will definitely have the edge in shots and puck control but it is the score that matters. You never know what will happen with Hill's goaltending. I look for this one to be a classic.

Hill wins because NSP is full of slackers and Hill has hard workers

Good point DB! If Hill wins it will make for a much better semifinal matchup. Just jope to see some good section hockey.

When exactly has NSP given high seeds "fits" in 3AA? Hill will be ready to play as they always are for the playoffs and win this game by 3-4 goals. NSP has some nice players but not enough, Hill is too fast and too deep.

Last year against wbl, nsp gave wbl a scare they were winning for most of the 3rd period, but wbl won. Scary game to watch but wbl always wins <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Hey puckster take a look back. 2000 2-0 against Roseville and 2-2 after 2, and twice leading against WB after 2 periods. I would say that's some good hockey, look out Hill, you just never know!

its also hard to beat a team 3 times in one season, i believe you're goign to see a sea of red and white at aldrich on saturday.. NSP is a little hockey town and very supportive ....bursting to get their first UPSET of the season nsp will come out strong, if hill puts a few in right away .. well than its over but the longer nsp stays in it the more the game favors nsp. i hope to see a close game just for the sake of hockey .. don't count out the polars yet. If you take away the 3 goals in 20 seconds last time these two teams played it was pretty even ... i'd say the longer the game stays a one goal or tie game .. start to think NSP pulls this one off .. one little bounce on hill's goalies and its written in the books as 29-1 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat"> the polars have scoring power too.

GO POLARS!

The problem is that NSP players have it in their heads that they can't beat Hill, They are defeated before they hit the ice. It's a psycological thing that a lot of teams have against certain opponents. NSP would of much rather been a lower seed and faced WBL or Cent. I hope they get over it cause I would love to see em beat the Pioneers.

Any chance NSP has to pull the upset is to score first and get a 2 goal lead, which may cause HM to panic & the polars to believe. Keep the game close & hope for a break in the 3rd. It's the ingredients for upsets this time of year. However, I've seen HM gradually improve and if they score first, they win 5-1.

i've talked to a few of the players and the moto they have going right now is ... we've got 6 games left.. leave everything you got on the ice.. and the morale is high .. they all feel that they have a good shot at beating them.. now if they lose im going to hate to see the looks on their faces because they have a certain pep in their step all week at polar .. i think they're ready

Hillfan... Thank you for not going out on a tangent saying how Hill is far superior than North and the game is no contest. It shows a certain aspect of class as well as respect.

I will not tell a lie, the factors Hill has are undefeated in Quarter-finals of Sections since hockey existed... Recently have defeated the #1 team in the state (yes #1 they are a very good team and can be called the #1 team)... Have defeated us on two occasions, neither being what could be a close FINAL score... But are these good or bad for North? If Hill takes it as they are invincible, they will be very beatable... If not, which I do not think they will, it will be an extremely intense game. Our spirits are up and everyone is excited for the game, we all seem to know that this is our game to play Hill like we can and beat them.

6 games left.

should be...

Post by winner62 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 9:15 pm

should be a great hard hitting game with scoring threats on both sides if hill can put away a couple early watch out but if north hangs around anything can happen i'd like to hear more from anybody more neutral to this game or andybody at all thanks

Winner, I am definitely neutral on this subject, I have ties with both of these programs. If I'm a betting man yeah I take Hill any day of the week, but North does have some nice forwards and Hill's goaltending is very suspect. I agree with everyones comments, North must get out to an early lead and if they do it will be a classic 1st round match-up. Hoping for a great game!
