nico leaving virginia

Post by puck4ever » Wed Feb 16, 2005 10:03 am

just look at the people who are saying he wont be in virginia next year, collectively they have 2 posts ever on here, you really cant believe what these people say, since they had no credibillity when they posted these comments and are gaining none additional credibility by not backing up their off the wall speculations with any facts and aren't posting on any other threads with meaningful comments. so dont worry virginia fans, he isn't leaving.

not really

Post by puck4ever » Wed Feb 16, 2005 12:32 pm

his dad wasn't a doctor, rather a member of upper management at the hospital in virginia, and he didn't quit so he could move, he stepped down in order to spend more time with his family. there's a good program in virginia now, and nico doesn't need to move to get noticed. niskanen is doing just fine isn't he? thats what i thought. i talk to nico quite often and am a friend of the family, so i can tell you that he isn't moving. redneckwoman doesn't know what she is talking about so don't pay any attention to her. but i think we've all already established the fact the she is about as credible as president clinton, so don't try to play the role of somethin ur not redneck. u have not a clue about this situation and your just trying to stir things up on here, so until you have something worthwhile to say about hockey, do us all a favor and leave this site to everyone else that cares about hockey.

i agree with puck4ever. I also know nico and know that he would not leave the virginia program. his family has a little more pride in their hometown than other people who jump ship. redneck, you must know absolutely nothing about niskanen otherwise you would not say he is overrated. were you at the game last year when the head coaches from 5 wcha teams were there to watch him? (CC,UM,UMD,MSU,Bemidji) obviously not. i would say that proves he is not overated.

Hats off to NICO and Nisky. Both had nice years playing the seriously WEAK Schedule the Blue Devils Play. They played only 2 AA Schools and lost both. Good Luck to Nisky at UMD and to NICO his Sophomore Year with the Blue Devils.

Niksy is sweet! I personally saw him play against Eveleth and he was just linin kids up and knockin em' down! He was fun to watch. Nico was sweet too. He's young and he has a bright future ahead of him!

I want to add a name to the list. Jared Festler from Little Falls. He's a great player who is having a big impact on a team who's statebound this year. I just wanted to put another name out there. Besides playing with him i have also played with nico sachetti and i think he is a great player. Festler is not quite at his level but he is up there. Nico is a great player who I've seen do some crazy things. His only knock is that he doesnt like to give up the puck too much. It wouldnt hurt him to pass it around a little more. Other than that he has some mad skills.

pretty dure virginia played rapids (AA), greenway (AA), and mayo (AA), and i think one more, who it was is slippin my mind, so thats 4 AA teams with a 1-2-1 record. and yes, both nisky and nico had great years. congrats to both of them on a good regular season, and good luck to them when it really counts.

GO DEVILS!!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ck4ever at: 2/16/05 10:25 pm

just like those people who nominated him for mr hockey. and the same people who chose him to be on the u-18 national team that won the gold medal in europe a couple summers ago. yeah, o i forgot, sandelin, the coach of the bulldogs, where he's goin to play next year. yeah these people dont know anything, you're way more credible than they are. what a joke you are redneck, do us all a favor and stop posting.

Exactly, they walked away disappointed because he chose not to go to their school and play. Nisky is one of the best defensemen in the state no ifs ands or buts about it. You should really go watch him sometime and then come back on here and tell me that he is overrated.

He only has one person to work with from virginia and that is Nisky who may i add is way overrated and well all i have to say is Nico is great and Virginia will be hurting next year with out him
- to quote redneckman

redneckman,
To say Niskanen is overrated is your opinion, which everyone is entitled too, but for the future...Please save yourself the embarassment and do us all a favor by keeping your ridiculous and false statements to yourself, because Nico isn't going anywhere.

wow. obviously none of you know too much. 1st off, niskanen is not overrated, i watch him game in and game out, and he blows the field away, he can skate through the players and get a good scoring opportunity at all, he just usually dishes out the puck to a teammate, which shows hes not greedy at all, you shouldnt be able to skate around everyone right to the net in highschool alone, but hes good. and also for you who say he is overrated, why are there multiple scouts at each game, and he made the US 18 team. Dallas and many other teams have him ranked #2 in the WORLD for defensemen of his age. he is fast, great with the puck, awesome shot and accuracy, and great at passing and setting up plays. just admit virginia has come out with a good player. and another great thing about him, he knows hes good, but you will never hear him say that he is.

now, i go to school with nico. hes not going anywhere. staying here until he graduates. some of you need to watch virginia some more and see what niskanen and sachetti are all about.

it will be a toss up for Mr.Hockey between Niskanen and TJ Oshii, and I believe Niskanen will get it. and can you say hard hitting?

ok spinner, im a friend of nisky and a huge fan of his, but to say he tops them all and to think he should win it hands down a little extreme. look who he plays, and look who brian lee, for example, plays. the competition isn't even remotely close. now, had niskanen played at a AA school and played against that competition, i think he would be the favorite to win the award, but unfortunately we will never know for sure. is he the best player in minnesota this year? in my opinion and from whom i've seen play, yes. but i haven't seen everyone on the list and am not positive how the voting works, so i dont think matt will win it. unfortunate, but thats just how i see it. congratulations to all the virginia players this year and good luck to them saturday and wednesday.

im a personal friend of his also, i play baseball with him, fish with him etc. Maybe he wont get it because all the voting takes place in the cities and im not sure how many of them have seen him, but he is the one who deserves it. Hands down the best defensiveman in the State. If you compare points from a forward to a defensiveman, if they D is close to the F in points, the D is much better.
