HIBBING/Hermantown

Post by bucksony » Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:15 pm

Here we go! Lets hear from some of you real hockey fans about this big match up on Saturday in Grand Rapids. This wise buck is going with 'Big Blue' by a goal. Should be an excellent game. Go BlueJackets!

This one should be a dandy. I see Hermantown winning 4-2 with an empty netter in a game worthy of a section final.

I am glad the majority of people are picking Hermantown. Seems like Hibbing plays harder that way. I am giong with Bucksony but I am going to go with 3-1 Hibbing with an empty netter. Game could have went either way last time and Hibbing steps it up big time for sections. Also they had problems last time burrying the puck on golden opportunities. Not happening as of late

GO BLUEJACKETS!!

Does anyone know if this game will be broadcast on local radio? I don't think I'm going to make it to Grand Rapids as I plan to watch the 3 games in Hibbing instead. But I'd like to listen to it while I watch the last AA game if I could.

Bluejackets

This will no doubt be a great game. I wish it could be the section final game. I will pick Hibbing based on coaching, goal tending and that first line. Plus they just know how to win this time of year. Hermantown is rock solid but I am taking Hibbing on experience and coaching that is HUGE this time of year!!!

Though I am biased in the Hermantown behalf, I have a feeling Hibbing will pull through. If they don't. oh well. As long as one of the teams wins it to go to state, and hopefully it all. Good luck to both.

hibbing is about to prove once again why they are the best playoof team in northern minnesota, if not all of minnesota. no matter what problems or struggles they have during the regular season, they always win in the playoffs. hibbing will win saturday, after all they are still the section champs until virginia beats 'em in the finals. can't wait to see this game, should be the best of the year to date. good luck to both teams.

If Hibbing makes it to the final against Virginia I think that would be a great game. But Hibbing has the edge so I wouldn't start celebrating yet of the section 7a champs.

On Radio

When Hibbing games are broadcast I found it to be on 106.3. Depending on where you are, it may or may not come in. It is a Hibbing feed, so it will be Hibbing biased radio.

Writer, JLS 81', well stated. I think that the winner of this BIG game will represent region 7a in state. Of all the remaining region 7a and 7aa games left, this one is going to be the one to watch. Again, BlueJackets in this one. Go Big Blue!

Hermantown/Hibbing

Although Hermantown has been incredibly hot lately, I'm going to have to pick Hibbing by 1. They are a little more experienced in big games.

-Hoping for a Virginia/Hibbing Final.

Hometown Proud - There is no way you can say Hibbing is more experienced in big games than Hermantown. Hermantown has played in a section championship game 6 out of the last 7 years. With 3 championships. If it goes to Hibbing vs. Virginia, then yes I would most defenitly say Hibbing would have more experience in big games.

big game experience

Post by cletus » Fri Feb 18, 2005 9:31 pm

The last time Hermantown won sections was 2001. Hibbing has won it the last two years, so which teams' current players has more experience winning big games?

Experience

Post by Hometown Proud » Fri Feb 18, 2005 11:57 pm

puck14- Thanks, but the past 7 years don't really matter. Hibbing's current squad has many players that have won big games the past two years and played at state.

Post by puck4ever » Sat Feb 19, 2005 12:24 am

im not sure how anyone, unless they're from hermantown, can pick a team other than hibbing. no other team has had so much playoff success recently. and note that hermantown won section 2a, a much weaker section than 7a. hibbing is the team to beat and i dont see that happening on saturday. hibbing by 2. so that'll make up a dream rematch for many hibbing/virginia fans, this time it'll be in the finals, not semis like the last 2 years, so lets hope for a different outcome as well. good luck to all the remaining teams.

GO DEVILS!!

HIBBING EXPERIENCE

Post by bucksony » Sat Feb 19, 2005 8:21 am

Going to keep this simple: Yes, Hibbing has probably more experience in big games but as you know all now comes down to this huge game. There are so many factors and/or breaks here and there that could be the deciding factor. The game on paper is a toss up but I still think 'Big Blue' will come out the winner in the end. Go BlueJackets!!

The Game

Post by MNHighHock » Sat Feb 19, 2005 4:24 pm

I have been cheering for both teams this season. I like Hibbing, but I am from Hermantown. I am not going to put a score on this or guess who will win it. Honestly, either will work of me, as long as they make it a section game worth remembering. Good luck boys. Skate Hard.

Hibbing/Hermantown

GREAT JOB BLUEJACKETS!! Poderzay was a brick wall and the D played very well. Hermantown people didn't know what to do. Hermantown's #16 wow what a spazz. He can't even pick a fight with a kid half of his size. Hibbing's fan's boosted them to victory that's for sure. The IRA Civic Center was loud as can be tonight. Great game though can't wait for the final.

GO BLUEJACKETS!!
