White bear lake, Edina black, Edina white, Wayzata, Tonka black, blaine, Jefferson and tartan are top teams.

White bear- record:12-2 with big wins: 6-2 over Jefferson, 6-2 over edina white and 5-3 over wayzata

Edina black- record 11-3-2 big wins over: 4-3 Jefferson, 4-2 blaine, 3-2 tartan, 4-2 wayzata and 3-1 over wayzata

Edina white- record:6-3-1 with big games: 3-2 over tartan, 0-0 tie with jefferson, 4-1 over edina black

Wayzata: record 12-3-1 big wins: 5-2 over edina black, 5-3 over blaine

Tonka black: record 10-1-2: big wins/ties: 2-2 with tartan, 6-3 over tartan, 5-3 over white bear lake

Blaine: record 10-4-3: big wins: 4-2 over jefferson, 3-1 over edina white

Jefferson: Record 10-4-4: Big wins/ties: 3-1 over tonka black, 0-0 tie with edina white, 3-3 tie with tartan

Tartan: Record 8-5-3: big wins/ties: tonka black 2-2, 6-2 over white bear,3-3 with jefferson, 2-1 over wayzata.

In league the standings of the 21 teams look like
1st-Wayzata 40 points
2nd Jefferson 37 points
3rd-white bear lake 35 points
4th- Edina black 35 points
5th-Tonka Black 34 points
6th-Blaine 34 points
7th tartan 33 points
and then down in 16th in Edina white because they have the least amount of games played in the league plus they only have 5 of there 10 fair play points.

Top teams i have right now based on skill
1st White bear lake
2nd Edina Black
3rd Tonka black

I would put hastings in this category also. They lost 5-2 to edina black but beat edina white 2-1. not sure about there other wins and losses but i have heard them and rosemount are the top teams in district 8, but for the teams i have seen from district 8 like rave, woodbury and St thomas they have been more up and down

I play for Wayzata and there are only 4 teams that can have a chance to me (Edina Black, White Bear, Tonka black, and Wayzata)

Wayzata also beat Tonka black 2-1 early in the year outshooting them 45-12 and tied last night only because the ice time ran out before game time

Edina white is just a bunch of hacks, one of their players got checked down and decided to grab and twist one of our players legs taking him out for 2-3 weeks. We won that game 3-0 also

The loss we had to Edina black 4-2, we had 46 penalty minutes and gave up 3 pp goals

District 8 does not seem very good to me this year. In the wayzata tourney last weeked, St Thomas got 2nd but did not seem like a great team. Woodbury lost big to Edina black also earlier in the tourney.

I would say White bear is best team we have seen but when Wayzata is without injury and rested, no one has been able to skate with us a full game

That game was tightly called on both sides. Edina had to be in upper 30s as well. There has only been one other game we would have lost our fair play point and that was a questionable call with less than a minute remaining in the game

I agree with Wayzata dude, 4 teams that can win it all; Edina Black, WBL, tonka & Wayzata...none unbeatable, but are better than the rest.

Out of all the teams i have seen Edina white has the most talent but they don't play together well, lots of penalties and have had lots of injuries. They just became 100% healthy for the 1st time last night and beat the 3rd edina team(the worst one) 7-1. If they can turn things around i would put them in this group. They have 2 older freshman who have summer b-day's that will for sure be on JV next year and have lots of speed. Not a team i would want to play in the playoffs.

minnetonka blue just destroyed minnetonka black 7-3 last night. the only reason tonka blue is so far down in the standing is because they have the least amount of games played in the league. tonka blue is definately a team to watch out for

Your right that you have played few games compared to other teams but in those 16 games you are 8-6 and 2 ties... compared to teams near the top who are 16-4 (WBL) or 15-3 (Wayzata)
Your losses include:
4-2 to EP red (17th of 21 teams)
5-1 to Jefferson (5th)
4-0 to wayzata (1st)
4-2 to blaine (4th)
4-2 blaine a 2nd time
and 6-2 to Edina white. (11th)

My guess is your not at the top of the standings is more in the fact that you have not beaten the top teams ahead of you in the standings

yeah they lost to a few teams along the way that they probably should have beaten but the teams that are barely ahead of them (OMG, Roseville) have played 3-5 more games and they have already beaten both those teams plus lost to wayzata by 1 and beaten both EP teams twice

I agree that they are better than the teams immediately above them like OMG and Roseville but what i am saying is their not quite as good as the top 6 or 7 teams but i agree they are a solid squad

OMG did beat Edina black in wayzata tourney also and were up 4-1 on us going into 3rd period. Tonka blue is good but lacks depth. Jefferson seems very overrated to me, we easily beat them twice and they didn't score a goal in all of the round robin part of wayzata tourney. We play Edina white tonight but are using a defenseman as a goalie since both ours are out so it should be an interesting game

Jefferson has been plagued with injuries this year...Watch out for them late in the season.
