This is from the College Forum and gives perspective of MN Classes to D1 over the last few years.

2012-2013 Total 234, USA - 134, Minnesota - 33, Canada - 89, Ontario - 52;

Recruit wise Ontario ahead of Minnesota every year except 2011-2012.
Ontario typically represents just over 50% of the Canadian Recruit class.
With the exception of 07-08, numbers are pretty consistent.
I could break down by US state, but would need to do a little more massaging of the spreadsheet.
Update my sheet once a year, in the summer to include the newest class.
Note that these numbers may miss the walk-ons.

* Data collected over years from a combination of HUX listings and the NC listings from the WKHY blogger.

There was some chatter on the Womens College Forum about MN goalies in the class. Here is a little history and current perspective.

Hard to believe Minnesota, the state of hockey, only has 3 goalies going D 1. I would think there should be more. Why the lack of interest in goalies from Minnesota?

The data is avaiable to look at from MN and National complete class data. I think each year only 2-4 MN goalies go D1 on average. Is that talent or opportunity or desire to go D3 and play more or with Elite Leagues and top AAA Teams like MN Jr Whitecaps that is max number who get exposure? There have not been many lights out MN goalies in recent history. The Canadian goalies seem to win out.

In 2009 HS class that just graduated only Laura Bellemy at Harvard from Duluth who was #1 GAA best goalie in US and Havel from Grand Rapids at BSU (not sure if she has another year via redshirt or graduated) owned the net.

In the HS class of 2010 - 4 from MN went D1. Going into senior year only Billideau from Hopkins has stuck and become number 1 goalie and one of the best in the Nation at #8. Rochester grad Michelle Bonapace-Potvin has redshirted and appeared in 4 games at UND.

For 2011 Shelby Amsley-Benzie from Warroad is starting at UND, Julie Friend from Minnetonka is at SCSU and Chelesea Laden has been a back up at Quinnipaic.
