From the MSHSL website.

Webcast and Television Coverage
All eight quarterfinal games will be webcast live on Prep45.com. There is a daily charge of $4.97. The championship semifinals and championship games for both classes will be broadcast live on KSTC-TV, Channel 45, as well as on other broadcast and cable outlets throughout the state. Those televised games will also be streamed live by Prep45.com.

I have had it heard said often and have said it here too (and was slammed for saying it).

No one really cares about girls hockey except the players, parents, and the coaches. I enjoy it.

They belong in the Excel because the boy's play there - but it would be served better at Ridder (home of the best college team in the US).

With that said, yesterday as I flipped through the channels - ESPN, ESPN2, FOX and Big10 all had womens BASKETBALL on ....

YET Gopher Women's hockey rarely attracts 50% ticket sales let alone a sell out, almost never on TV ... even the NCAA finals :?:

If people cared about girls hockey they would at least be heading to Ridder to support the Gophers.

I bet there are more girl hockey players attending a Gopher Men's game than a Women's game any give homestand.

All that said, enjoy some good state tournament semi and final game action or better yet - TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER down to the EXCEL and support the game live via ticket sales.

So the high school league is charging people to watch the games online this year? I thought it was free last year. Why the change?

I suspect that no one is stepping up to pay (adverise). so they charge a small fee to off-set their losses.

So glad I paid five bucks for the worst video feed ever. Add another hamster to the power supply, Prep45.

I've actually paid more for worse! By and large, internet streaming is not very good. I have seen it very well done, but unfortunately that is the rare exception, not the rule.

Prep45 does need to step it up if they are going to be actively charging people to stream.

CBC's stream of the Olympics this winter is the gold standard of how it should be done.
