Big Games and Your Predictions - Week 7

A very abbreviated week due to the Christmas holiday, but still 14 games on tap, many of them very compelling. In order to get enough games to make it worthwhile, I selected games with at least one current or previous ranked opponent, an additional challenge that our esteemed group I'm sure will gladly accept.

There is no clear favorite for the Biggest Game of the Week, but the Wayzata/Edina matchup is the most intriguing at this point.

Great outcome in the first one as CDH tied EP 2-2. I'm guessing not very many got this one right.

Another fairly interesting evening:

St. Paul United trounced St. Paul Blades 10-0. While everyone was correct, spars46 also picked the correct score. Nicely done.

Eden Prairie and Cretin-Derham Hall tied 2-2. We did have one entrant who predicted a 3-3 tie for the lone point, spars46. I think you can see where this week is headed, folks.

Chisago Lakes walloped Henry Sibley 11-0, Bye with the hat trick. 15 out of 19 of us were correct, but no one was close to the correct score.

In the Biggest Game of the Week, Wayzata defeated Edina 4-1, Wayzata now on a bit of a roll. A mild upset according to our panel with only 7 choosing Wayzata, but no bonus points.

Chaska/Chanhassen withstood a fierce Orono comeback to win 5-4. All but 2 had this outcome correct, but no correct scores.

Bloomington Jefferson nipped Champlin Park 2-1 in another mild upset with 7 predictors choosing the Jaguars. No one had the correct score.

Red Wing edged Totino Grace 3-2. Although we unanimously predicted a Wingers win, the score was much closer than almost everyone thought, but hockeyfan87 bucked the trend to earn the bonus point.

Dodge County octupled New Ulm 8-1, Rasmussen with a quintet of goals. Again, we were unanimous in our prediction, with clutterbucket choosing the correct score.

Princeton topped L-D-C 4-1, despite being outshot 43-27. All but 2 picked a Princeton win, with Knight7, perhaps using inside royal knowledge, also hitting the correct score.

Hill-Murray won by the same 4-1 score over Stillwater. All but one of us were correct, with spars46 again with the correct score.

Roseville blanked North St. Paul 6-0 as all of us predicted. spars46 (again) and MNHockeyFan with the correct score.

Mounds View handled Benilde 5-3. All but 4 of our panel picked the Mustangs, but no correct scores (not even spars46).

Proctor/Hermantown over Duluth 5-3, Hoff with the natural hat trick. Unanimous in our predictions, but no correct scores.

The night mercifully comes to an end for some of us as Moose Lake blanked Hibbing/Chisholm 3-0. All but 4 of us were correct, but no correct scores.

I believe that Moose lake's victory over Hibbing was a upset and most of us got the outcome wrong. I think the points may be closer than previously published.
