Hockey Day

Post by Hard water fan »

After much hard work and support from the girls hockey community, it is fantastic news that the girls game will now also be broadcast live on hockey day. In conjunction with this agreement the WCHA will also have increased presence on Fox Sports North during the course of the season with numerous live broadcasts. It's been years in the making, and now we get to watch the fruits of their labor into making girl's and women's hockey worthy of recognition!

Thanks to whomever is doing this work. After a google search it looks like Skippers (are they ever still called Skipperettes?) vs Ponies. Should be a handful of future D1 players in that game. (Who knows, maybe even a future Olympian?!?)

Ditto on the thanks!

As to D1/Olympians, only time will tell. Realistically, both teams are rebuilding and hopefully they both won't be below .500

It looks like FSN will air 8 WCHA games, starting in Dec plus the WCHA cham final...

This must be a new development because last night on the Wild game they were still promoting the girls game as a tape delay.

Looks like its live on FSN+ and "also tape delayed" You would have to turn the channel during the Gopher vs Badger game

Who is the potential future Olympian?

In conjunction with the girls HS game being broadcast live, they will also broadcast the women's game St. Cloud vs. Mankato live. An important also- if you have a good story relating to a girl player, or team- FSN is looking for stories that they can do an expose' piece on during the broadcast. You can call then at 612.486.9500 or leave them a msg. on their fb page.
