With Edina falling to Breck this evening Warroad should once again take over as the No. 1 team in the Overall.

or will?

I believe the correct answer is "will" as the highest ranked KRACH teams they have played other than Breck at #8, are #13 Brainerd and #15 Tonka. Warroad has a very legit chance at an undefeated season if Breck does not show up in the "A" championship.

But Warroad can only play the games that they have on the schedule. And they have won every one of them so far.

All true, and I agree 100%, other than the possibility that Breck gets upset and doesn't make it to the "A" championship game. Not likely, but possible.

Dodge County KRACH #39 against Warroad IN Warroad:

https://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/game/s ... er=4366187

Shots 35-12. Warroad does have an exceptional goalie but giving up 35 shots to DC?

#1 overall KRACH?

I dont get it...something is missing after 16 games in the model and not playing anyone in top 8 in KRACH to have almost 2x the rating of #2.

According to the link that was provided warroad gave up 16 shots to DC...unless I’m reading the stats wrong? I looked at warroad’s schedule and they played Breck (Top 5).

But I do agree it makes no sense.

Too much egg nog for me...clearly I am delusional...thanks for pointing out my mistake(s).

Good to see Roseau do well tonight in EP. They are going to need to bring the heat to beat Warroad but get 2 shots at them...

massalsa, youi saw the original stats posting correct...They did show WARROAD having only 12 shots to DC having 35...they were changed after your posting, most likely it was a simple mistake ….

The stats are always in flux and manipulated...especially shots and assists...A while back,I was told by some parents on a team that a certain player's mom ,who the coach had given the job of posting to the hub, fills in 2nd assists later, adding points to certain player(s)..I was doubtful, but I started tracking the team's stats and sure enough...in one season, a player's season total of points consisted of 50% 2nd assists...

Dealing with shots gets tricky also, the tendency is for your home goalie to look good without making the team look bad for allowing so many shots...some home arenas are known to be quite liberal in shot attempts(basically anything in the same zipcode), while others have a narrow definition of a shot on goal...

The KRACH rankings (by formula) are interesting ....the latest example, WARROAD beats Rosemount 7-1 and goes from 1206.680 to 1656.637....on the other hand BLAKE beats CENTENNIAL 7-3 and goes from 809.013 to 748.787...

At that time of the two games, BLAKE had a SOS ranking of 12, while WARROAD had a SOS ranking of 32

We should assume that since WARROAD beat DC by 2-0 and BLAKE beats ANDOVER by 4-3 that WARROAD will increase its lead since EDINA lost.(thats a little goofy) but that's what you get with a formula

We have KRACH,QRF,MY HOCKEY RANKINGS,and LSQRANK using different formulas to rank Mn girls high school hockey, if you put them side by side it is really interesting how they differ .

I don't recall ever seeing three Northern Minnesota teams - right now it's Warroad, Brainerd/Little Falls and Roseau - in the Top 10 Overall. And with Grand Rapids/Greenway, there are four in the Top 15. 8)

You might say that Warroad's got a bit of a lead in Class A.

And in AA who (besides maybe their players, coaches and family members) would have predicted that Brainerd/Little Falls would be just one behind Edina at this point in the season? =D>

Wish I would have predicted, as I knew coming in that they were going to surprise a lot of pundits. We faced this group all they way up and they have always been really strong. Kudos to them!

We're over 80% through the regular season schedule and it's interesting to contrast the A and AA rankings. In Class A, the top 6 teams are all from different sections which could make for a very interesting state tournament next month if the top seeds in their sections make it through.

AA is a much different story, however, with the top 7 spots clustered in only 3 sections. If the ratings stay the same through the end of the season that means that at least 4 of the current top 7 teams won't make it to the state tourney and at least one won't even make a section final. As of today, Section 7AA has a team with 15 wins, that might win their conference championship (they are tied for first in the Mississippi 8 now at 8-1) and may have to travel as the lower first round seed. That's Cambridge and they're currently the 5th ranked team in their section. Tomorrow night they travel to Elk River to play the current #3 seed Elks. The Blue Jackets have already played and were defeated by GR-G, the current #4 team in 7AA. While Cambridge did play Eden Prairie in an out-of- section non-conference game, they probably didn't do themselves any seeding favors by also scheduling 5 Class A teams.
