This is just from scanning the results, but the TWELVE (not including ssm - tradition black, white and red, MSP grey, black, red and white, 9th grade Gemini, northern 19 and 16, Gentry and flow) Minnesota teams competing against all star teams from around the country were 33-6-3.

Minnesota >>> everywhere else in girls hockey

So much so that I’m not sure it’s a great event for Minnesota teams. I would have been happy to see those Minnesota teams play each other again.

Perhaps most notable for this group: the playoff games for the elite league are Tuesday this week. Tradition White and Black play eachother for the 19s, and MSP Grey and Black play for the 16s. Both games are at 815 at PIC, and are as good as hockey gets in Minnesota - go out and show your support for the girls game!

The winners of these games earn the right to play Shattuck 16 and 19, I believe on Thursday, for the opportunity to represent Minnesota in the national championships.

Having watched this summer/fall from the National Camp in St. Cloud through the NIT this past weekend, at least at the '04 birth year, the best hockey overall is from Minnesota and it ain't close. The teams that were having success in St. Cloud this summer, in terms of wins and losses, were the ones that were roster-heavy with Minnesota kids. This weekend at the NIT, the skill set from the Minnesota kids, overall, was far superior than the teams from out of town. Can't write to other birth years, but for the '04 birth year, Minnesota seems to be pretty far out in front.

Tradition WHITE U19 vs Tradition BLACK U19 Tue Oct 22 8:15PM Plymouth Ice Arena

The winning team in the State Playoff will be competing in the 2019 USA Hockey National Championships held here in Blaine, MN. The losing team may still have a chance to play in the National Tournament, but will need to wait until March to determine if they get an at large bid or not!

U19 - Rink A
White (14-4-1) vs Black (12-6-2)

U16 - Rink C
Black (13-4-3) vs Grey (11-5-4)

Both games at P.I.C. and start at 8:15pm. As was mentioned, winners get an auto bid into National Tournament; losers will find out in about 5 months if they receive an at-large bid into the tournament.

I was not surprised by the dominance of the Elite colors. I was a little surprised by the 1-1 tie of U19-Black with the Dallas Stars. What happened there?

It's a little disappointing that U16 North didn't get a chance to play for the championship. They went 1-1-1 against black and tied gray in the one opportunity they got to play against them. They only had one other loss for the season...

FWIW, they beat SSM yesterday as well.

I agree - that North 16 team is legit.

It appears I misunderstood the playoff process - do the winners Tuesday not have to play the respective Shattuck teams? I thought that was the process...

I saw a lot of games this weekend and I thought Dallas was the big surprise. A team that skated as well as anyone. Maybe a little short on finishers. Black was short Nicholson (wasn't there all weekend), Burton (missed the last two games) and maybe Delianedis (I don't recall her playing, but with my old man brain, that doesn't always mean anything). Having said that though Dallas gave everyone I saw them play a very good game. A little research says they have seven or eight D-1 commits.

Fun tournament, one of my favorite weekends of the hockey year.
