Huge game at the Rec Center in SLP tomorrow night. Carly Greene and the stout Knights D are working on streak of 7 consecutive shutout periods. Could be one of the best games of the season.

HM with two wins over Breck. A solid season so far for my Pioneers.

It was 3-3 as Breck tied it up early in the third, but HM pulls away 6-3

HM looks very legit. Offense was pretty anemic early while their D and G was top notch. Now they seem to be scoring in bunches, too.

The goalscoring is impressive from the Pioneers, though I have to say their D will give them the edge against Stillwater in 4AA. They have the better goalie and a deeper, more talented D corps than the Ponies.

Looking at the Mustangs, I do have to wonder about Breck's defense. Giving up 30+ SOG and 3 goals a game when half the D corps is on its way to Dinkytown?

Has Frosty lost his recruiting eye?

I would make a couple observations. They are just kids, trying their best, having fun. But being labeled a "Gopher" seems like it can be tough. Without the label, people might watch those kids and say "wow, she's really good." With the label, it's "she's not that good." Also, while almost every star 13 year old ends up a pretty good college player, not everyone ends up a star. With Frost being one of the worst offenders with early recruiting, he's got recruiting classes filled with 13 year-old stars. Whether that makes for future national championship contenders is an interesting question.

Saw this goalie play Blake 2 seasons ago (at Fogerty) and was impressed by her as an 8th grader. She is having a great season and appears to just get better and better. Great for her and Blaine. HUGE win against a formidable Crimson squad!
