I bought mine but realize the first day might be a complete snoozefest.

Has anyone found an official box score (not those in the Strib hockey hub)? In years past on the MSHSL site, the game link would be in the class brackets after the game finished. As of now, nothing is posted. The Live Stats are also off a bit. Anyhow, these help in listing officials too, which is nice to see being one myself.

River Lakes 1, Gentry 1 after 1st. Gentry tied it on a garbage goal. Thus far if you're for Gentry I'd be a bit concerned. I see weird things like trying to feather a pass a long the blue line, passing into crowds, passing a foot in front of your own goalie, shooting into a defender when a pass to the wing would've been wide open etc. There's also defenders who shoot right while taking the left point. That doesn't seem the norm to me. Hopefully it's just nerves, but for a 1 seed I'd expect basic hockey fundamentals. We'll see.....

My bad. River Lakes, not Little Falls.

It appears to me the Gazdiks are not playing for gentry. In my opinion they are their two best players, and this tram is much weaker without them. Their absence is forcing Jackson to play D, while she’d normally be a consistent scoring threat. Anyone know where they are?

2-1 Gentry after 2nd. They are a fast and clean skating team, but in their own end they aren't very good IMO. Twice RW took a no look pass deep in their own end and threw it down which lead to a clank off the post and a breakaway the goalie stopped. They play pretty sloppy though at times and lack discipline. I believe 6 penalties for them already. If they played more as a team and did the fundamentals better I think than they're up by 3 or 4. Their goalie is solid though.

Another thing is they give up the blue line waaaaaaay too deep and well into the circle.

I don't like em much. They're like an all-star team light on team. I feel sorry for RW on this one. They're just outmatched with all that speed.

Let's address the elephant in the room. Gentry was playing yesterday vs. River Lakes without both Gazdik sisters, Prater and their top goalie Vance. What is the story?

For a start not taking a ton of dumb penalties. Add in basic fundamentals and a general respect for the opponent to not include blind behind-the-back passes, intentionally bumping after the whistle, and 1-on-2 deeks. I'd have thought with those key players absent that you mentioned there would be an increase in basic fundamentals and respect for their opponent. Alas I was left bewildered and disappointed in their lack of discipline. If they do this against a team like Warroad they could be in trouble.

The moral to the story is if they had more respect for their opponent (regardless of who), this game is probably over by the halfway point. Instead I saw arrogance and sometimes hotdogging it. I hope this is not the norm.

Tonka 0, Alex 0 after 1st. 14-2 SOG LOL. Alex has zero quality chances. However, doing a great job overall of keeping the Tonka rush in front of them. Goaltending looks to be solid. I just remember the late 2000s when they beat I think Breck in the final despite being outshot heavily. Great goaltending. I'm surprised they moved up. Good for them! :)

Wow, Alex tied it with 13 seconds left. 1-1. Shots are 49-18 LOL. Goaltending has been terrific. She doesn't really give up many rebounds. =D>

You should be able to watch on the Prep 45 website for free. The boys semi-finals today are being streamed.

Proctor/H'town doing a great job down low in their D. I didn't realize they are undefeated. Their coach is Emma Stauber who plays for the Whitecaps. 3-1 after 2nd.

Proctor 3, Warroad 1 final. They seem perfectly comfortable in their own zone for long stretches. For all the play and passes through the crease, Warroad really didn't have much to show for it. I'd say Warroad controlled most of puck possession, and though Proctor didn't have many rushes, they probably still had more quality chances than Warroad.

Congrad to Proctor. Good team. Looks like Marvin might have to get rid of more of the Warroad kids to compete at state. Only brought in 5 this yr. Nobody in section 8 will ever compete with the academy of Warroad so they will have many yrs to get izzy his ring...
