Yep, and Gentry has 4:

Cornell, Mankato x2, and Bemidji, and one of those on the u18 team. Tonka is the next best, and not by much, but I’d take those 4 over Tonkas 3 plus whoever else is their 4th

And Orono has not played Tonka! Which was what my original question was about.

A few that should be nteresting this week -
Friday:

Gentry/Orono
Orono is a good team, but this was an interesting data point about the gap between top end single A hockey (including, to be candid, players with gaudy scoring totals) and playing against top end AA defenses. The game was competitive, but given the hype around Orono it wasn't as close as I'd hoped.

A few that should be nteresting this week -

Tuesday:
Maple Grove/Elk River

Saturday:
Andover/Elk River
As it turns out you could have included:
Friday:
Edina/Elk River

which turned out to be a 1-0 Edina win, thanks in large part to ER's sophomore goaltender Sam Stockman who stopped all but 1 while making 47 saves. =D>

Not sure either ended up being that good. Andover absolutely obliterated ER - shots 43-5 - wowza.

Rogers seemed to comfortably handle Centennial. Close score - 2-0, and not sure on shots, but sure seemed tilted Rogers way except for a stretch in 2nd. Rogers also missed on a penalty shot. Top Centennial line seemed very tired by end - scoring chances in first half-ish, but playing huge minutes and not terribly effective by the end. Centennial may be a top 5 team, but I doubt it after watching that game. Rogers is very good and well coached defensively - comfortably belong in the second group after the big three, and maybe near the top. Not super talented offensively, but lots of pretty skilled kids and good team speed - good goaltending and D - they will be tough for anyone to score on, and they get pucks to the net and crash. Seem like well designed as a playoff team.

I agree with your assessment, as I mostly saw the same. Rogers doubled-up Cent on shots 32-16. Cent only getting 1 sog in the 3rd (wow) can partially be attributed to them running out of gas. They ran 2 lines in the 3rd to try and match Rogers 2 lines, and failed. IMO, Centennial is not built to run two lines. Maybe the 1st line can handle it, but not any mixture of the 2nd or 3rd lines. I also attribute this to Rogers good D and clogging up passing lanes. Many times Rogers simply out-worked Centennial on the forecheck, and winning small battles. To Centennial's credit, they did wiz 4-5 nice pucks through the crease, but no one was home on the back-side. Centennial has created goals by generating some nice cycling and getting the opponent off-balanced. I saw far less of that in this game. Again, I attribute this to Rogers good D, some selfish play (or not out working Rogers), and some systematic problems on Centennial's side. Something didn't seem right when they tried to build their offensive play from their D-zone... beyond the good D and forecheck from Rogers side. Though Rogers 2 goals were "scrappy", they got them right in the sweet-zone - the slot area or front of the crease. Cent D must do better to own their house in this space to win big games. Either way, the road to State now goes through Rogers in 5AA. Congrats to them, they are most definitely a top 5 team, and Centennial proved not to be, or not to be ready for the challenge.
