The top 5 should include Andover, Edina, Gentry and Minnetonka.

Was it the great Meat Loaf who said "three out of four ain't bad?" Gentry may not even be top three in their section

You're probably right, but there will be little indication as to how good Gentry is until Sections because of their schedule.
How about subbing in Stillwater for Gentry, and then I have no idea who the fifth is. Moorhead?

I think Hill will be in there, their current coaching situation notwithstanding. Benilde should be very strong again as well. After that it seems very wide open.

No love for EP? I know they are a long shot in a daunting section, but with a year under his belt I expect Persian's Eagles to put a good fight night after night...

I could actually see them in the section final vs Tonka. The section isn't really that good. Holy Family lost whatever they had left from 2 years ago. But EP a top 10 team? No.

Anybody see anything noteworthy from the scrimmages this weekend? I don't know where teams were.

I see YHH is posting about rosters on X, outside of the Hub, where else can one access these rosters once posted? It appears that some of what YHH has posted on X is on the Hub, but not everything they've posted about.

Saw a YHH tweet that Tonka has quite a few young'uns on the squad this year - I think it's 8 players in grades 7-9. Was that expected? Does that put them in 'rebuild' mode or are they going to try and ride 2 lines?

Certainly not in rebuild mode

Gentry lost 4-2 to Northfield yesterday and were outshot 43-26. That's pretty head scratching to me as someone who doesn't pay attention to who graduated.

Northfield has more star power than you would expect and Gentry lost a ton from last year's squad, so the result is not surprising.

Gentry lost everything. Northfield is fine. Two D1 players. Puppe is the real deal. BSM vs Stillwater (7-6) shows exactly what everyone knew all along. No goaltending, no defense on either team. This appears to be a 4 horse race: Tonka, Andover, Edina, Hill.

Just to pile it on, EP beat Gentry last night 2-1.

Looks like a great win for Hill Murray last night and one that probably stings Sami and the Hornets. Did anybody see this one?

So if Tonka is that young and HM has 5 9th graders (including their leading scorer this year) and an 8th grader on varsity, I would guess these two programs will be near the top the next 4 years straight. I'm sure Andover and Maple Grove will have plenty to say about that, but will be an interesting multi-year battle between the west side and the east side.

I see Lakeville North is 8-0 and has given up 5 goals in 8 games. They haven't played a killer schedule, but they are beating the teams in front of them. Kare 11 does have them as #9. A team to watch for sure.
And Northfield is 9-0 as well. I was surprised when they beat Gentry first game of the season, but clearly they do have some talent on the team. They don't play any heavyweights except for BSM and Dodge county. They will have a nice record heading into sections.
