Girls fall HP14/15

Thoughts?
The Fall HP Program Coordinator has decided to add a second tier to the Fall HP program for the districts who have enough girls to field two teams. We have enough girls to make two teams but it could only work if all players would be on board, so our question to you is, would your daughter still be interested in continuing on as part of the second team if she is not one of the top 18 players? The teams would be in different brackets of the festival and would not play each other during the weekend, however they would share practice ice in September and may combine for small games and scrimmages during the practice times. We have 36 players and this new option the HP Program Coordinator has presented would allow us to field two team of 18 players. If all are not on board with this option, we would be fielding one team of 20 players.

When this program started 2 years ago, D10 had 36 or so skaters. They all practiced together, and everything else as you mentioned, up to the time of the festival. Once at the festival, D10 fielded 2 equal teams and everyone played in the same/similar pools. Both D10 teams won all their games I believe, with one team showing they were slightly stronger. Point being, why create a 2nd tier of HP when you can have 2 equal teams? This makes no sense, unless tier 2 is less costly than tier 1. If not, then it's just greed. Just to make everyone feel special, why not create a 3rd or 4th tier. Stop the tier at 1, and all will be fine (except MNH's pocketbook).

Lastly, I hear this is the last year of fall HP. Rumor was that it will be moved to the spring like the rest, and just be called HP 14. Since MNH is slow to post or fails to post all their meeting minutes, we'll all probably have to wait to find out through the grape vine.
