Excellent. Thanks.titleist wrote:Wethington is an 00'... not on the JWCD... JWCD is all 2001'sjg2112 wrote:Who are some of the members of the JWCD team? Is the Wethington defender from Blake on that team?zambonidriver wrote:Jwcd 5 Jungels 0
So, if this follows to form, next year's JWCD group will be all 2002s? There's four OS Selects teams with 02s on them - the Jungels team and three others. Interesting.
I think that there are about 18-20 or so kids on that JWCD team. I think the majority of the girls are from last years 01 OS Selects team. Heard that they may have added a couple of kids from last year. Not the same coach as last year.
I think that most of the kids are 9th graders.
On a side note it will be interesting to see what the Machine-OS or Jungle-OS end up doing next year as they appear to be in line to be the next JWCD or at least some of the girls would be JWCD. I can't imagine the JWCD being coached by Jungels or non OS people coaching something with the Whitecaps brand...for several reasons.

They are not the only team to have had a college coach run their practice. Have seen the St Cloud State coach, the Bemidji State coach, Joel Johnson (U18 Nat'l coach and assistant Gopher coach), and Mankato coach at the back to back practice session's at New Hope Arena and also at Blake. I think that those sessions are almost all 2000 & 2001 girls. Not ALL of the 2000 & 2001's but specifically those ages.zambonidriver wrote:JWCD is all 9th graders keeping with Winny's model. Their last practice was run by Brad Frost.
The guest coach was running the drills with Winny. Each coach ran different drills...neat experience for my kid.
I think there are 3-5 8th graders that are 01's on the JWCD.

Mavs, the 02 team lost on Saturday, too. Can you believe it?! It's over...Mavs wrote:Wait, so JWCD would be national champs? I'm confused
The JWCD team has some 8th graders on the roster. I saw three of them on the ice on Sunday. Blake's best 8th grade F and their best 8th grade D were out there along with a 8th grader from Maple Grove. All three outstanding 8th graders.
The game on Sunday vs. the JWCD was way more physical than the previous two meetings this year. It took our girls a full half to figure it out. It was 4-0 after the first half. First half was a butt whoopin'.
That is hockey. Look at the Wild last night, completely different team vs game one. Its hard to pound your chest about a hockey win as the other team could do the same thing back to you a day later. You never know.HockeyDude20 wrote:Mavs, the 02 team lost on Saturday, too. Can you believe it?! It's over...Mavs wrote:Wait, so JWCD would be national champs? I'm confused

Yeah I am certain you could argue it. That's the beauty of an opinion. They are neither right nor wrong. I've seen one play more than the other so perhaps I am biased. Not taking away from the other one. Both very very good. Now as for the 8 th grade D perhaps she was the only 8th grade D. So which by default would have made her the best one. BUT with that being said I am probably most familiar with her and she is as solid as they come. Strong, tough kid.InigoMontoya wrote:Did Blake have more than one 8th grade D?Blake's best 8th grade F and their best 8th grade D were out there along with a 8th grader from Maple Grove. I would imagine Blake's best 8th grade F would be argued.

Ha! Not really, that is the best I could do, but I was just having some fun. As I said before, the 01/02 team is very good and I would rather have my daughter play against them (and the 01's), win, lose or draw, night after night, than to be part of a game where the shots are 55 to 3.zambonidriver wrote:come on you can do better NW Just pointing out the similarities the Russian had Kasatonov, Larionov amd Makorov, you guys have Skelton, Langseth, Martin. D6 had a tight one Saturday. There is talent outside the 494-694 loop.zambonidriver wrote:D2 at 15's are really good
D6 at 02
D3 has a really good coach who is coaching both 01 and 02
The usual suspects are always fun to watch - an effective toe drag back to the inside never gets old. For me, the real fun will begin purchasing the program Friday, knowing I'll refer to it often as a kid with great speed flies by, or a kid creating an opportunity for a teammate, or a defenseman that beautifully manages her gap each time back, no matter whom it is with the puck.
