D6 had a tight one Saturday. There is talent outside the 494-694 loop.

The usual suspects are always fun to watch - an effective toe drag back to the inside never gets old. For me, the real fun will begin purchasing the program Friday, knowing I'll refer to it often as a kid with great speed flies by, or a kid creating an opportunity for a teammate, or a defenseman that beautifully manages her gap each time back, no matter whom it is with the puck.
There is talent outside D6? No way! I think you may be stretching it a little, by going outside the 494/694 loop. Who said this?

I certainly appreciate the E Bush Lake swagger, just a caution not to sound disrespectful
Very insightful, whomever it was.

I'm not sure what you're saying, though. Is it disrespectful to D6 to point out that there are good hockey players in the state that may not play off of Hwy 169 or Hwy 7, or have an Os sticker on her helmet?

Ha. Yes very insightful.

I may have had a "swing and miss". Should have realized you could be outside the loop and from D8. My apologies.

All the 02's are still with the machine. At least that is what the stickers on their helmets say.

Interesting 15s rosters.
D4/9 rosters 13 skaters.
D16 has rostered 15 skaters, unfortunately only 8 skaters actually from D16; 4 from D6, 2 from D3, and, oddly, one from D9?

It appears everyone eating cake got placed, despite missing numerous tryouts. One for their banquet.

The Clash is only a week away, but no chatter yet. Can one of the Os insiders give us some info on the teams? I don't see Elite in any of the names, so a layperson may have a tough time navigating without a scorecard.

O/S Ziegler (U16) is the 01/02 O/S team.
O/S Stenerson (U14) is a new team this year of returning U15s and U15s to be, and one 03/04 player.
O/S Zummy (U14) is the 02/03 team of 7th graders and two 6th graders.
O/S Pezon (U12) is the 03/04 team with a couple 04/05s.

I believe O/S Brooks is a team of 8th and 9th graders. Might be wrong on that one.

I hear the Jungels team played the 01's again today....Sources tell me that the 01's played as bad as they have all spring and still beat the 02's 4-1. I'm guessing all the chirping about being unbeatable may start to fall by the wayside.

Hey, Hansonbrother. Your sources are correct. I am not sure where you are hearing all the chirping about being unbeatable. Maybe there is another forum I am unaware of.

It is impossible that the 01s played their worst game of the spring yesterday. I mean, how do you explain the 01s losing to the 02s the first two match-ups of the spring?! 4 games this spring so far. 2-2. So clearly those two games they played worse than yesterday! Can you imagine how bad they must have played the first two games?!

I do have a tremendous amount of gratitude for your keen interest in the outcome of the 02 team's games. Thank you for that.

I love mmmbop, too. I am glad to see there is another one of us out there!

These are the Hanson brothers your moniker refers to, right?

I, personally, think that the 02 OsMachine would have a great shot of winning the National Tournament this weekend if it were in the field. But my opinion is clearly biased so should be taken with a grain of salt. Some contend that the team would have no shot...so, let's put our inductive reasoning skills to the test! I will present some facts and we should be able to induce a credible conclusion. Here we go!

Fact 1- There are 16 teams in the 14U Tier 1 National Tourney. Some of the teams include Chicago Mission, CYA, St. Louis Lady Blues, Pittsburgh Pens Elite, East Coast Wizards, to name a few.

Fact 2- CYA played in the Duluth Ice Breakers Tourney this year. They beat Minnetonka 2-1 in pool play. They beat Edina Green 3-1 in the Championship. On a Sunday. Edina skates 11 girls on Sundays. MN Association Hockey is considered Tier II.

Fact 3- 02 OsMachine played the West Coast Selects in NY last summer. Scores were 5-1 and 2-1 in favor of OsMachine. West Coast Selects is made up of the best girls off Mission, CYA, St. Louis Lady Blues, and Detroit area's best 02, plus some other solid players. They will be playing in Blaine this weekend.

Fact 4- 02 OsMachine played Canada's best 02 AAA team in NY last summer as well. We played them twice. Won the first one in OT and lost the second one in OT. That team is made up of the best girls in the Toronto area. Some of the girls play for Durham West Lightning. Durham's record vs. teams in the USA Hockey Tier I National Tournament this past season was 3-2.

Fact 5- The East Coast Wizards' (the #1 ranked 14U Tier I team in the US) record vs. the rest of the field in the National Tournament this weekend was 6-5-1 this past season.

Now I know nu2hockey's argument is going to be, "But OsMachine just played the 02s and the Tier I National tournament consists of 01s too!"

So here is Fact 6- As Northwoods pointed out the 02 OsMachine just played the JWCD. JWCD is primarily 01 birth year players. No 02s and maybe an 00 or two. Games were fantastic and could have gone either way.

Here is an opinion on my part. I think that JWCD team is the best 01 team in MN. Which by default, would make them one of the best 01 teams in the US.

I think it would be great if they went to Chicago, Toronto, Rochester, and Boston, and proved they were the best in show, but struggled a bit in the locals, proving the show is in Minnesota, not in Chicago, Toronto, Rochester, or Boston.
