Beantown, Take 2

Post by Nevertoomuchhockey » Wed Jul 13, 2016 5:01 pm

Master schedules out today only show 8 Minnesota teams across all 5 levels? 8 out of what, 150 teams? Could this possibly be correct and/or have many realized that there isn't as much value in the big tourneys out East when Braemar hosts just as many coaches and recruiters all summer?

I think I shared my opinion that Beantown was having serious growing pains last year. I'm curious what those of you who are attending or whose team is not participating think of the MN team numbers this year.

And if we could play nice, that would be great too 8)

Looks like there will be some 2002 division representation from OS + a Blades team and then the STE/Blades teams at older ages. Is that Machine team in the Futures AAA Bowlby's team?

In theory almost 200 of the best 2001 girls are going to be in St Cloud at 15 National Camp.

I had a kid play out there and was an ok tourney with what felt like a lot of east coast college presence. What college coaches are recruiting rising 8th & 9th graders (what looks to be 3 or 4 MN teams).

The value feels to be SOOO much better from the OS Prospects/Futures & HP stuff.

Might be a good tourney for rising Soph/Jr/Sr or a good tourney to play in with some unofficial college visits in the area (feels like there is 10+ D1 schools within 2-3 hours of Marlborough).

I just had a look at the rosters for this event and had a peek at some of the older Minnesota kids.

I've mentioned here before the best player I have seen at U12 was S. Breza who played at Breck this past winter.

The Beantown rosters give players an option to list their 2016-17 school. Breza has listed her school next year as Shattuck. That bums me out, as I'd like to see her play in the Cities.

I think she had a brother play at Shattuck too. Blake in her same section made it tough to go to state even with Zumwinkel and Breza...crazy to say

Plus, Syd's sister graduated, and Breck's best chance was the last 2 yrs...before the goalies graduated...SSM will be a great place for her

I do wonder if she will be playing at Beantown since she is recovering and did not participate in natty camp tryouts

There are other 01 girls rostered at Beantown that are in St Cloud
and obviously they will not be in Boston

AAA: Machine lost in quarters, no MN team in semis or championship

AA: STE-19-2 won the quarter and semi, facing an incredible Assabet team for 1st place overall. TC Elites Galaxy lost 0-2 in their semi to finish 3rd

Great weekend!

Anyone have the 03 and 04 info?
