St Thomas (6-1) vs Edina (9-0) 12-26-12 8pm
The top teams in each class meet in what will likely be an amazing game. These two played last year in the 3rd place game with Edina winning 3-2. St Thomas graduated 4 seniors last year and Edina graduated even less, so they are clearly the favorite going into Wednesday's game.
The only other meeting between the two in recent history was in the first round of the 2006 Silver Cup where Edina won 4-3 and went on to win the tournament.
Should be a great game between the great offensive power of the Hornets and the shutdown defense of the Cadets.

STA vs Edina
I will take STA over Edina 3-2. Think STA's defense and goaltending better.

You do realize these are virtually the same rosters as last year when these two met and Edina won 3-2?D3Referee wrote:Cadets get put in their place in this one. STA's sophomore depth is no match for the senior depth the Hornets bring to the table.
Edina 6, STA 1
Except STA's leading scorer is new to the team this year, I'm not sure about Edina, could be similar...
I've seen your rankings, so I realize you don't let the facts stand in the way of your posts, but you do realize that Krieger, Commers and Schurhamer (3 of their top 5 players) are no longer at St. Thomas, right? And that the Top 2 St. Thomas scorers this year are both sophomores? Right?HShockeywatcher wrote:You do realize these are virtually the same rosters as last year when these two met and Edina won 3-2?D3Referee wrote:Cadets get put in their place in this one. Just checkin. You seem to be in your own little world out there, somewhere on the outskirts of reality, so I'm getting a little worried about you.
You are right about Edina though. They bring back their best players from a year ago and they do have an unstoppable look about them.
WHEN St. Thomas does lose though, I wouldn't suggest dropping them 10 places in your little rankings

r
I love the sophs from St Thomas but as they say in Jersey "fo-GET-abouttit"...
EDINA 9
St Thomas 2
St Thomas goalies have seen a combined 12 shots all year...it's going to be a pinball game out there in this one...EDINA big in a blowout.

Edina lost 1 player to graduation and 1 to juniors.
How is that not virtually the same rosters as last year?
Take a look at my comments from here:

I know what's going on and gave (still do) Edina the edge.
I still say, winner of this game wins it all.
Huh?Tenoverpar wrote:St Thomas goalies have seen a combined 12 shots all year...
Good luck to both teams tonight!
ummm, Edina returns it's best players from last year and St. Thomas lost most of theirs. In fact, 3 of their top 5 players, Krieger, Commers and Schurhamer.HShockeywatcher wrote:

I realize math is not your strong suit, but that's a 60% turnover on the Cadets top line, replaced mostly by sophomores. Edina returns intact at the top of the roster. If that equates to a repeat of last year, then your rankings are starting to make sense
The Cadets will be fine and no doubt win the Class A Tournament again this year, but they will likely lose 2 games this week at Schwanns (and AT LEAST one) and this game won't be close. Hornets by 4 or 5
yup. A legend in your own mind. In the now famous words of our illustrious leader, please ... PROCEEDHShockeywatcher wrote: I know what's going on
