Even though I don't follow either team. I notice that they had 122 shots combine in that game. Princeton had 62. Luverne had 60. Is there any defense?
Curious to know from you stat guys- if there is a record for shots on net?
122 is a bunch - Maybe the score keeper miscounted..? not sure but it's a ton of shots.

There must have been some good goaltending. The princeton goalie did get pulled, but a game with this many shots, would seem to lend itself to a double digit tally for each team. Kendall Meyer in the net for Luverne had himself a helluva game. 7-4 with an Empty netter is not an absurd amount of goals considering the amount of shots.

ranked in top 15.
How does this team get ranked so high by lph. Come on. Top 20 sure but once you get in the top 15 or 10 you need to be more solid.

People see that they beat a team like Cathedral but clearly weren't at the game or clearly don't allow themselves to understand that playing an entire game on the PP really is an advantage.grandmeadowhockeyfan wrote:How does this team get ranked so high by lph. Stats are kept by the individual schools, correct? It seems that those are shots towards goal, not shots on goal.
I notice that some schools produce a lot more assists than other schools and think that it may be due to how loose an interpretation each school uses in determing assists, and shots (on, towards?) goal are taken.
Just my $0.011 worth, less than $0.02 due to inflation.
All I can say about this game is that it shows that Luverne is a player this season. They have two good scoring lines, something that is rare to find in out-state, single A.
