Eden Prairie at Edina (2/16/13)
Should be a good game- doesn't have any section or conference implications but it's always a fun battle nonetheless.
I see EP winning this one.

EP wins 3-1 (EN).
A very rugged game, with heaps of penalties and not a lot of clean scoring chances. Edina's only goal came off a bad EP turnover, and the game-winner for EP only came about because Edina inexplicably left Graham all alone in front of the net. Edina was the better team 5-on-5--Gerdes had to make some big saves early on, and was huge in this one--but their march to the box did them in. Even though the EP PP isn't brilliant, if you give them enough chances, they're going to score on a few.
Nice work by EP to get to .500, both in the Lake and overall.

Really not what I expected out of this game. I would have guessed it was going to be a high scoring, gun it out game. Goalies proved me wrong, as both came up with some big saves. Was also surprised with the amount of penalties, thought the refs would let them play a little more. However, the majority of the penalties were the right call.
Overall, big win for the Eagles going in to the hardest section in the state.

What was the story behind Edina's 6 or 7 penalties? Were they frustrated or just unlucky? Did EP have 3-4 penalties? and was that a factor in the games outcome?Metrohockeyfan wrote:Really not what I expected out of this game. Eden Prairie had 7 to Edina's 4. Seemed like more of frustration to me. Biggest factors was the power play, and Gerdes making one or two more big saves then Benjamin (IMO).Wasilla wrote:What was the story behind Edina's 6 or 7 penalties? I saw 8 to 5, with one coming in the last 30 seconds afte the EN goal. Either way, doesn't effect the rest of my post.green4 wrote:according to hockey hub edina had 9 penalties to ep who had 5Metrohockeyfan wrote:Eden Prairie had 7 to Edina's 4.
