Congrats to Edina. They played a great game and deserved this Championship. Great season.

Thank you to this Hill team. You guys can hold your head high. You've done the Pioneer family proud. You've got a great experience and one you'll remember for the rest of your lives, even though it hurts like heck right now. You gave us a great season. Thank you to the seniors especially. Go Pioneers!

No doubt the Hornets are the deserving State Champs this week. Getting hot at the right time makes all the difference. Their depth and forechecking was a thing of beauty. Congrats, Edina. Thanks to Hill for an entertaining year as well.

As in Buffalo Bills, the 2nd place champs of all time. Seems we like the second place trophy more than the 1st place one

I'll take HM's 3-8 in championship games over Moorhead's 0-7 any day. Or WBL and Tartan's 0-0.

Congrats to Edina as they were definately the better team tonight. You deserve the title.

As for the Pioneers, thanks for another amazing year. The loss tonight wasn't for a lack of effort. You surprised many by your accomplishments and did so impressively. Wish the seniors nothing but the best & for the returning players, the work begins now to take the next step a year from now.

A boring game. Hill turned over early. Edina way more physical. Finesse vs physical=no contest.

Great game to watch with two great teams and no referee interference. That is how hockey should be decided day session referees. I hope they had there televisions on and took notes.

Yep. The game was decided by the halfway point. Edina's physicality was too much for the finesse of Hill. It took Hill a few minutes left in the third period to finally muster some decent quality chances. To me that was a good indicator of how tired they were. A pretty lethargic end for them.

Perhaps you meant delusion alert? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Mountaineer wrote:SPOILER ALERT: HILL-MURRAY BEATS EDINA BY 3+ GOALS, GAME NOT AS CLOSE AS MANY ANTICIPATED...
Not a fan of either team, but anyone who has been paying close attention to the teams and how they have been playing lately, this one isn't as close as it appears on the surface. Many reasons why, but here are the biggest three...
3) scoring balance, Hill-Murray has more depth up and down the roster.
2) physical play, Hill-Murray plays way tougher and handles the physical side of the game much better.
1) Goaltending, Hill-Murray has a massive advantage here and will score 5 goals minimum tonight.
-regardless of what happened at Braemar during hills 2-1 win over Edina earlier. Hill is playing significantly better than Edina lately and will be a 3+ goal win by Hill.

Halla, I'm wondering if his first 8 posts were as insightful as the ninth?

Or maybe it should read inciteful.

Congrats Hornets!! Edina played there best hockey when it mattered and as an Edina fan it was fun to see them dig down deep for the tourney and play some great hockey.

Hill played a great game and had a great season and I would like to congratulate them on a wonderful year, they did not stop battling all night and you could not imagine the scared feeling i had during the 2nd period while Hill was really getting some chances.

Congrats to both teams on great years and for an entertaining game!
