Abusing the Transitive Property!!! ('12-'13 edition)

Post by PuckU126 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:08 pm

Alright, there has been some chatter on this board saying that Northern Class A teams cannot compete with Metro Private schools. Today, I am going to prove you wrong!! (In a jokingly/fun way)

I am going to show you how Hibbing/Chisholm can compete with AND defeat HM, STA (this year's Class A Champions) and Edina (AA Champions).

During this season, HM defeated both STA and Edina, STA defeated Edina and HM, and Edina defeated HM just this past weekend to take the AA title.

You may be asking, where does Hibbing fall into the mix? I will show you by ABUSING THE TRANSITIVE PROPERTY!!!!

Edina was defeated by Duluth East (4-1)
Duluth East lost to Duluth Denfeld (5-4)
Duluth Denfeld lost to St. Francis (6-5)
St. Francis lost to Buffalo (3-2)
Buffalo lost to Hopkins (3-2)
Hopkins lost to Orono (3-2)
Orono lost to Mound-Westonka (3-2)
Mound-Westonka lost to Willmar (3-2)
Willmar lost to River Lakes (3-1)
River Lakes lost to Princeton (3-0)
Princeton lost to Luverne (7-4)
Luverne lost to Marshall (4-1)
Marshall lost to Windom Area (5-4)
Windom Area lost to Sartell-St. Stephen (6-3)
Sartell-St. Stephen lost to St. Cloud Apollo (5-2)
St. Cloud Apollo lost to St. Cloud Tech (7-1)
St. Cloud Tech lost to St. Michael-Albertville (3-2)
St. Michael-Albertville lost to Irondale (6-3)
Irondale lost to Chisago Lakes (4-1)
Chisago Lakes lost to Henry Sibley (4-3)
Henry Sibley lost to Minnehaha Academy (3-1)
Minnehaha Academy lost to Richfield (5-4)
Richfield tied Dodge County (3-3)
Dodge County lost to Waseca (4-3)
Waseca lost to Mankato East (4-2)
Mankato East lost to Albert Lea (4-1)
Albert Lea lost to Hibbing/Chisholm (7-1)

So you can see the proof is in the pudding! Hibbing/Chisholm could have defeated 3 of the strongest teams in the state (according to the Transitive Property). :P

Hope you enjoyed!

I was waiting to use that chain, but I went a different route along the way. I am sure there is a version out there that uses that chain as well.

Kennedy over Lakeville South

Lakeville South over Prior Lake would be another trail

Always one of my favorite topics. :D

You see, Ely really should be the state champion.

Ely beat Eveleth 5-3.
Eveleth beat Greenway 4-0.
Greenway beat Northern Lakes 4-3.
Northern Lakes beat Cambridge 4-1.
Cambridge beat Minneapolis 2-1.
Minneapolis beat Robbinsdale Armstrong 6-4.
Robbinsdale Armstrong beat Osseo 2-1.
Osseo beat Buffalo 2-1.
Buffalo beat St. Francis 3-2.
St. Francis beat Duluth Denfeld 6-5.
Duluth Denfeld beat Duluth East 5-4.
Duluth East beat Minnetonka twice, 4-1 and 4-2.
Minnetonka beat Edina 4-3 twice.

So Ely is over 20 goals better than Edina. All of those losses were obviously just a fluke.

And here is why the SEC is the toughest conference in hockey.

SW beat Tonka who beat Edina

Hast, FL, CDH, WBL, WB, and ER all beat SW - who beat Tonka - who beat Edina

MV beat CDH - who beat SW - who beat Tonka - who beat Edina

RSV beat WBL - who beat SW - who beat Tonka - who beat Edina

Park beat WB - who beat SW - who beat Tonka - who beat Edina

So every team in the SEC could beat the state champion Hornets.
