Reebok HP 16s - Tryouts/Rosters

Section 1A/AA is over - I can't find any info on Rosters/results? Wasn't there, but was told that Something like 65+skaters and 7 goalies (Cha-ching Minn Hockey), with a strong SSM presence. Anyone have more detail?

You're not the only one who hears the cash register bell ring with these kind of numbers.

The families of those who make the cut and represent 1A/AA at the next level "festival" will be looking at another round of tryout/registration fees, and will also have to pay admission charges if they want to watch their son skate. Once past the ticket counter, they'll sit a respectful distance away from a whole lot of evaluators, who will be easy to spot in their new black Reebok jackets. And if they make it to the next Round of 54...another set of fees and admission charges, and a different set of new black jackets.

I know that ice time isn't cheap, and that you can't expect the coaches coming in from out-of-town to cover the cost of their lodging and meals and mileage. But there does seem to be a lot of black jackets at these events, worn by a lot of out-of-town evaluators. It's easy to become a bit suspicious about the budgets, and wonder whether families are throwing good money into the chase for a less-than-advertised number of open roster spots.

Minnesota Hockey is a non-profit organization, and those of us who still have kids that age are paying for their membership within this organization. Wouldn't it be nice if they opened the books for its members, and provided a detailed accounting of the revenues and expenses associated with these HP programs?

My guess is that Bob Haskins is on the roster. Didn't he coach his son all through youth hockey then on to Mayo H.S. then last year with the HP 15s.. Yep He'll be there.

Just take a look at the youth select tournament to see how many of the best that they bypass.

All five kids from SLP are pretty legit. Hill's kids qualify through their home section, so they've got some kids in other sections.

Well, the first link is a step in the right direction...but it only gives total revenues and expenses for each HP program. What I'm curious about is how the revenue is spent within a program (and where the profits go). How much spent on ice time, how much spent on food/lodging/travel expenses, how much on black Reebok jackets, etc., etc.

Oh, and if anyone doubts that there's some serious revenue being generated.....

Section 8, only one from Moorhead, must mean Cullen as coach does not have a lot of influence.... yet.

One coach is TRF and has four players. Benefit of coach being involved. Not saying anything wrong but can be helpful to program.
