Well, it's obvious he's a talented player.

I just always find it amusing how many hockey players have such connections, at various levels.

Much more so than other sports.

"Shaw, only a junior in high school, is off to a great start in his first USHL season. He has six goals and 17 points in 24 games, ranking seventh in the league among defensemen — and first among 1996-born defensemen."

Give the kid props. He earned it. That is good work in a difficult league regardless of your connections!

No question its a difficult league. Pretty solid numbers for a 96 born dman. Clearly earned it.

Congrats to a fantastic player and an even better kid!!

His father was also an NHL asst. coach with the Wild, Sharks and Devils before taking his current job. Great family.
