Post by MNhockey8 »

Alot of hype surrounding this big game on thursday. Who do you think will take home the championship?

I got EGF 4-1

EGF 5-2 with an empty netter.

EGF just has too much more talent for a deeper bench and they aren't afraid to use them.

The big question is if EGF isolates Warroads 1st line, does Warroad have the depth to overcome? I say no.

EGF 4-2

Warroad has a chance, but depth is their (very large) Achilles heal.

I'd give Warroad a puncher's chance. It's hard to beat a good team 3 times in one year but EGF is built to it.

Warroad's first line logs 85% of the ice time and I don't think they can hang with EGF's depth come third period. Especially if EGF plays Warroad's forwards physical.

I think warroads only chance is if that recruited top line can come out and get them a early 2 goal lead and then get outstanding goaltending (also recruited) to hang on. Not very likely against this EGF team.

EGF 5
warroad 1

Not sure about that one, though I did read in a post earlier this year that Crookston is missing a player to egf.

mn miracle must be talking about Eddie Eades. EGF must have been recruiting him early because his dad quit coaching in warroad in 2004 which made Eddie 7 when they moved here since he just turned 18. It's not the same as all the players both girls and boys that move up there as freshmen and sophmores. Watch the boys side the next few years marvin's boy is a Bantam and he will buy him a championship just like he did for his daughters. The girls program is going to drop like a rock in the next few years now that his daughters are gone.

Don't believe Warroad can stay with EGF for 3 periods EGF 4 Warroad 1

So no kid from Crookston or a kid from Fargo? Also slyvester come to warroad in 6th grade. roth, bethune in 7th. So I guess that means they are form warroad.

Brierley came from Crookston, I believe. Also, Lovens moved to EGF, from Fargo, when Brandon was in sixth (?) grade. Their dad is from Grand Forks, and played for UND.

It's the old double standard, all anyone wants to talk about is the kids that move into Warroad no matter what age they were when they moved.

But it happens in every other town and it isn't even brought up. Yon, Bjugson, Brierley, Loven, Holmes, I'm sure the list could go on.

How do you know what all the Warroad kids dads do for work but not the EGF kids?

- Recruited hockey kids dads getting a job at Marvin is not unusual. It's called the (unofficial) "Marvin Scholarship", up north.
Outside of Warroad anyway

Is there a similar "program" in egf ?

I've never heard of one.
