An interesting bit of trivia....all 4 teams in the 1A and 1AA finals are former members of the Missota Conference, Lakeville must have left in the early '90s though.

I like New Prague but their defensive coverage needs to tighten up over how it was in the Faribault game. Northfield doesn't have the skill Faribaults top line had but the Raiders are deeper than Faribault was. New Prague also has the advantage of playing in this game last year, I think that's a huge advantage early.

(it stopped snowing about 2 so the roads should be good for anyone traveling)

Faribault's goalie pulled his groin in 2nd period. If not for that, NP would be watching this game.

Pulled groin or not I thought Faribaults goalie played very well, Faribault just didn't have the depth New Prague did.

I get kick out of New Prague's coach, I coached high school football and I could never show the emotion he does and wish I could. He defends his kids, he gets the student fans involved, his kids play hard and don't complain when things don't go their way..... They just keep working. Lots of high school coaches took take a lesson from him....that's just my opinion as an outsider.

As for the game, it was treat to watch, I have no connection to either team so in my eyes it was well worth the price of admission and what high school sports are all about, congratulations to both teams on a very good hard fought game.

And for tiebreaker you had total of five. The tiebreaker was closest to total goals. I had four and the final total for the game was three. Tiebreaker goes to gmhf still!

I think tie breakers only apply when there is a tie?
Again, congrats on picking a perfect bracket.

Missed one pick also. I picked lesuer over faribault. So I had eleven also. I picked closest to total goals so I got the one point for that. Very close race. I think there was like four people at 11 after final.

Shots were more like 40's to 20's NP.

Sounds all too familiar to last year's final eh?

NP especially needed Wagner last night as his team was on the PK for what seemed like the entire 2nd and 3rd period. Thought the officiating was pretty poor. Several calls that left me scratching my head including 2 disallowed NP goals. Credit to NP for battling through the adversity to get the W.

With New Prague moving up to Section 2, who do you guys think will be crowned the new champion of section 1 and make their trip to the X?
