Top Seeds in Class A

Post by hockeyguy272 »

I have seen a couple of opinions here and there regarding the seedings for the Class A State Tournament, but am interested to know what people's input is. Hermantown is almost a lock for the #1 seed, the #2 and #3 seed is a toss up between EGF and Mahtomedi, and the #4 and #5 seed is still unclear between Breck and Alexandria. Can Mahtomedi secure the #2 seed with a win against St.Thomas? And is there a way for Alexandria to pass up Breck? What does everyone believe the order of the seedings should be?

You can't really predict it because a couple of those teams may get beat in sections.

Wins over Hill and STA should give Mahtomedi the edge for the #2 seed (assuming they get past SPA).

With Mahtomedi beating STA and East Grand losing to Moorhead, I would see Mahtomedi with the 2 seed at state and EGF with the #3. The morning session on Friday should be pretty good!

That's as long as Mahtomedi doesn't skip on off the cross bar. ;)

Hey AF:

Bowen left the game last night in the 1st period with an injury.
Do you know the story?

Thanks

I heard he left too. Wasn't at the game, skipped it to save my vacation time for the Roseau and TRF games coming up.

Not as wired in as I used to be. :)

He didn't need to. There were a few sitting out. Roseau did not put up much fight, the whole first period was played in Roseau's defensive zone, 5 minutes into the second Roseau only had 3 shots on goal and only one was a decent scoring opportunity. EGF swept Roseau for the season and didn't allow a goal in any game for both Varsity and JV.

On to Thief River Falls on Tuesday!

Did anyone know what his injury was and is he healthy?

It is obvious EGF is more than just Dixon Bowen... Tanner Tweten should be turning a lot of heads!
