Changes in sections?

Does anyone expect any major changes to the current sections? I know they are on a 2 year cycle and usually do big changes every 4 years... What do you assume will happen this year?

7AA will be at 10 teams with DM, who leaves? STMA, ER, Rapids? All speculation, who really knows. Does the MSHSL get input from the schools? Doubt it.

Speculation? Does the league take input?

They must not! I found it puzzling that Cloquet drove thru or very close to Lino Lakes, Blaine, Anoka, Coon Rapids, Mounds View, White Bear Lake, and Maple Grove to get to STMA for their playoff game. I guess they could've taken some back roads but still! Doesn't make a ton of sense tho...

The HS league does not take any input.. but its rumored that they want 7AA to get back to a northern section. Also the new sections will be out around State or right after

Requests to opt down were due in late January, requests to opt up were due about Feb. 1. The MDE should release enrollment numbers this week, the MSHSL will put in their multiplier to get their adjusted enrollments and the new 2 year sections are due to be released March 9th.

Rumor in Rochester is a Century/Lourdes co-op.

I believe it's done strictly through a computer using geography and enrollment numbers.

I wish they would have stopped at any one of those places and not shown up! :(

If Brainerd goes to 7, who comes in to section 8?

Why would they take a team like Brainerd out of 8AA and move a team from further south in??? May as well throw a Rochester school in there too!

8AA has 9 teams, we should keep Brainerd and lose Buffalo.

Oh, I thought they were opting down to 8A so they could make the X....oh wait, they would have to get by EGF then...
