Best teams all time in hs hockey
Let's get a list of the top five all time, all classes A and AA. From 1945-2015. Give me your list in your order. Get conversation going for offseason. Do the recent champions rank?

Did it take you all night to think this thread up?grandmeadowhockeyfan wrote:Let's get a list of the top five all time, all classes A and AA. From 1945-2015. Give me your list in your order. Get conversation going for offseason. Do the recent champions rank?

1993 Bloomington Jefferson 28-0-0
We will need a tie breaker, this squad was sandwich between titles 1992 25-2-2 & 1994 26-1-1. Three losses in 3 seasons simply amazing.
Tie breaker #2, How many recruits/transplants did Jefferson have? Serious question, don't know. If they had none, they win this little game.

No idea how many recruits they had, and no idea if this is accurate, but if you look up Mark Parrish some sites will say he is from Edinateam22tank wrote:1993 Bloomington Jefferson 28-0-0

Parrish grew up in West Bloomington and played for Jefferson youth program all the way up.green4 wrote:No idea how many recruits they had, and no idea if this is accurate, but if you look up Mark Parrish some sites will say he is from Edinateam22tank wrote:1993 Bloomington Jefferson 28-0-0

A few that come to mind, using the criteria of a) I was old enough to watch them play and b) State Tournament champions (since there's many great teams who did not win it all):
1987 Bloomington Kennedy Eagles
1992-1994 Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars
1995 Duluth East Greyhounds
1996 Apple Valley Eagles
2001 Elk River Elks
2004 Centennial
2014 Edina Hornets
2015 Lakeville North Panthers

Comparing teams from the past to current teams is like comparing apples to oranges. Teams may have had players who eventually played in the NHL but that doesn't mean as a team they were the best...... Jefferson had some great teams who won a ton of games but I truly don't believe they could skate with Edina's team from last year, Lakeville North's team from this year or a couple of recent Duluth East teams. The skill level of the kids today is just unbelievable at the highschool level here in MN.....!!!
