I would think they are looking at the 15-16 win range if they play up to their previously discussed potential. They will be battle tested for the 3 most important games in March.

Wow!

Not many gimmees on this schedule.

Looks like they are hitting every team in the Lake Conference!

I will for sure have to schedule the Lakeville North game, along with the Braemar tournament.

I hope the Bemidji Jacks come further south than St. Cloud this year. I really would like them to work Elk and Andover into a weekend trip, I would for sure go see one if not both.[/img]

Great to see Marshall play DE! Is it Hermantown or DE or both on why they don't play. Seems weird, seeing they are both AA in PW and Bantams and play each other growing up.

I'm not surprised to see Marshall play East now that they are AA. Hermantown, well, we could probably continue that on another thread already on that topic.

Hey, Sats, how strong do you feel LVN will be next year? Obviously, they have some huge holes to fill. Do they have the talent in the system, or entering the system, to plug the gaps left by the departing seniors? Big holes on defense, no doubt, who steps in to fill the holes left by McNeely, Sadek, Seper, and Altavilla? While the top two forward lines were very strong, the D was phenomenal initiating the transition game. Also, I think the most underrated player was Schneider. Does he stick around another year?

Top 5 in the state. No doubt. Max Johnson and Ryan Poehling both returning, both 50 point guys last year. Max will be one of the top 10 forwards in MN. Henry Enebak had 24 goals I believe and will explode next year. Schneider was a solid 2nd line guy, he will be back and put up 40-50 pts as a senior. Look for a few sophs to step up and have productive offensive seasons (Reed Smith, Tommy Klans, Chaz Dufon).

There were a couple sophs who played the 5 and 6th spots on D (didn't play a lot in tight games) but gained good experience over the course of the year...Keaton Pehrson being one who was drafted after Bantams by Waterloo in the USHL. He has a very nice upside. If Edquist stays, don't be surprised to see them playing again in the big game saturday night.

Whiner, anything more substantial than a "dont be surprised" comment?

If that were true, they would immediately vault from Top 5 (on my own list I have them #2 somewhat behind EP) up to solid #1 and heavy favorite for a March title repeat!

They don't play because Hermantown drops down to Single A for the High School playoffs. Randolph is a purist and would never reward a team for sandbagging like that. He gets it. He knows you can't have it both ways. If you say you're an A program, then play A programs during the season. I wish other AA programs had the same integrity, it would solve the issue very quickly.

I've been saying this for 6 weeks. Boys would look real good with RP between them. If both or even one comes they would be very difficult to beat, even with an inexperienced D core. In fact, I think Reedy would be the best HS player in MN. Let the hardcore hating and complaining really get ramped up then. Don't worry though, LN is not PL, this will be done to the letter of the law.

It would be awesome, but I think him and Pratt will both get invites to NTDP team here soon, so hard to sway kids from that. Mismash would be awesome in green too!

I see Marshall is following the East model and will play them at Amsoil. I have accepted having to play in Duluth every year for sections but in a split section the section semi and final site should be off limits for regular season games.

I don't have a problem with it. It's just one game fairly early in the year. It makes sense because of ticket sales, there will be too many fans at this game for the other rinks to hold. When it comes to sections, just win. I could complain about Rapids losing to East in Duluth, but I can look at many other factors besides playing in their hometown, as can Elk River. The elks go to state if they don't take a terrible 5 min major and just hand the momentum on a platter to the Hounds. When you are up 3-0 and dominating up to that point, where the game is played is not an excuse.

Considering the intrigue that the first East-Marshall game in 17 years is sure to inspire, I think it's a great venue choice for a one-time thing. They'll probably settle for rotating home-and-home games after this one.

East also added Prior Lake and got White Bear back on the schedule. They dropped the holiday tournament altogether to accommodate the 3 additions.

I'm fine with that--I'm really not a huge fan of the big holiday tournaments. There are a few that are real classics (Edina), the Turkey Trot is a nice early-season barometer, and Marshall's does a good job of bringing in many of the big Class A teams who otherwise don't play. But in an era when most of the top AA teams play each other anyway, they often just wind up being repeat matchups without the atmosphere.
