R4 combine
Does anyone have any feedback on the R4 combine? Good, bad or other wise.
My son who will be a senior next year, attended the combine and was contacted by many NA3 coaches. I am just wondering what the other kids experiences where. Do you think it is worth doing again next year? Did very many kids speak with NAHL teams? It seamed like most of the scouts where from the NA3 teams.
There is some NAHL presence there, but the NA3HL is much more active at this combine. But NA opportunities do start there sometimes.
As an example, last year Max Mettler (a '95 defenseman from Mankato West) was contacted by the coaches from Minot in the NAHL after he attended the R4 combine. He eventually got an invite to their main camp, impressed the staff, made the initial roster in September, and played the whole 2014-2015 season for Minot.

My son did the R4 this year as a senior. I think it was very well run and there was a good number of scouts there.
He was asked to meet with one NAHL team who invited him to camp, and was contacted a few days later by a USHL team who's scout had been at the combine, and was invited to their main camp.
Overall I felt it was a really good exposure opportunity, especially for guys who might not play on teams or in areas that are not heavily scouted.
