The Hub had Edina playing Burnsville tomorrow night, but it appears it is tonight. 2-2 after 2. Shots are 23-18 Blaze.

It appears Burnsville might have a better team than many expected after doubling HM in shots and narrowly losing to the pioneers, and tonight they have not yet been behind against Edina at Braemar.
Two pretty good teams to be competitive with

Dornbach scores in OT, Edina wins 4-3.

Another tough loss for Burnsville. They start 0-2, but they have been right there with Edina and Hill it sounds like. If STA is a step behind this year, Burnsville might have a pretty god chance at state.

Jefferson also won tonight 3-0 against Cloquet, so 3AA should be fun to watch

Glad to see the Metro AD's allowing more Metro teams to reach out and travel to outstate teams and playing games. It's just good for all if you can build the overall strength of the entire state of Hockey... JMO.

The Outstate Teams have an even tougher deal in that the almightly "tight" dollar makes it a pretty tough fiscal decision to travel, but glad that some are taking the plunge.

Granted, not all the games will work out, but it's very cool to see SPA travel to Luverne. Johnson to L of Woods, etc...

And the SPA kids getting to do an overnight and watch some USHL Hockey in a $120 million dollar USHL building had to make for a pretty fun weekend for them. I had the chance to watch the LHS SPA game tonight and it was VERY entertaining. SPA is fast, for sure. Luverne's adjustments after the first made it a great game. A rematch down the road would be WELL worth a good price of admission.

I can say that I have not been pumping up the black and orange yet this year. I prefer to wait and let results speak for themselves. That said, I think it's a bit ridiculous the different people that have ranked rapids at #3 or #4 in the state before the season even started. The names on the roster might warrant it but I wouldn't take anything too seriously until after the season gets rolling.

Rapids had all the momentum in the BSM game at the end. Scoring 2 goals in the final 3 min to force overtime. Then got a pp but the stupid game clock quit working, took a solid 5 min to figure it out. Needless to say the momentum had left the building and a perfect opportunity for BSM to score short handed.

north_bear, You are right on target. I thought Rapids showed a (recently) uncharacteristic amount of grit and heart in battling back last night. I think there was a pretty good chance without the clock malfunction they do convert on that powerplay. But, BSM had the same delay and figured out a way to get the short-handed goal.

I agreed top 5 was too high until they showed they are able to make a team of the individual talents. Although not a great start to the season, I think there were also some positives to find in all of this. Let's see if they develop and grow.

When the Thunderhawks turn it on, they look very, very good. Maybe they can figure out how to sustain that intensity throughout an entire game.

So is that where DJ is? Hunting down the electrician, clock manufacturer and rink manager because of the clock malfunction? If the dog hadn't stopped to pee it would have caught the rabbit. They should be in the 10-14 range.
